No need to act defensively as I never said that the game will have average or bad looking graphics at all.It will have fantastic visuals as evidenced by the footage but I expect some form of a downgrade.Either way, I'm really looking forward to the game and glad its coming out sooner rather than later..
How can anything that DieH@rd posted be construed as "acting defensively"
It was an even-tempered good-natured post, wherein he provided evidence of footage shown already in the public domain which proves that the gameplay segments already shown look great.
Frankly I dunno where the heck this idea of ND downgrading Uncharted visuals since from their first showing to final release, comes from. It's inane. As has already been said, it's all pre-rendered footage, and its foolish to think that a dev would choose to put low quality pre-rendered footage on a final retail game disk, when they've shown to have hi-quality versions available (we're talking Blu-ray disk sace here, so that's not a limiting factor). They simply made changes clearly driven by artistic decisions.
The pix above are from Gaf and are pretty silly fanboy drivel tbh, trying to intimate something that sheer common sense would you would otherwise never happen.
It makes me think that the person who made the above pic, as well as the people who continue to parrot and propagate such an asinine notion, have probably not played any of the Uncharted games themselves.
I've played through U1-3 over five times each, and never once did i ever think "these cutscenes don't look as good as the footage they initially showed". Even if ND did make some further changes to the in-game cinemas in TLOU, changes that in a certain spot, under the right lighting and with the right amount of shitty Youtube capture compression, might appear a slight downgrade from these promo trailers shown, I don't think anyone who plays the final retail game will ever notice *shrug*.
I don't understand the internet sometimes...
