Bad_Boy said:IIRC toyshop is a tech demo to show off the power of a specific graphic card no? Why would Factor 5 waste time on making a real time tech demo that was way beyond what the actual game could do? Sounds like a waste of development time, especially if they wanted to make launch window. They could have just outsourced a cg demo like everyone else if they wanted to show amazing looking graphics. Anyways, theres an actual in-game screen shot around somewhere with the hud and all, and it looks pretty damn good. Not to mention Factor 5 has a pretty good history with getting alot of graphical power out of hardware. The only thing I am worried about with Lair, is gameplay.
No, there actually was not.ChryZ said:AFAIK there was a mild whiplash from the first E3 demo (cgi-like real-time x-wings/death star scene) to the final game RSII:RL.
Thats the screen shot I am refering to in my post. But im not sure if anybody saw him play it, IIRC that image was pulled out of the speakers presentation during GDC. But realtime non the less.joebloggs said:This was from GDC and one of the Lair insiders on IGN confirmed it was realtime and playable (and that he in fact did play it):
Looks real to me. But I would wait on seeing some direct feed shots/movies to start talking about downgrades.Eagle-Vision said:True, fake? What do you think?

Can you elaborate? Sounds like your talking about the "hold Lair from e3" bit.CountZeroInt said:Heard through the grapevine some bad things about Factor 5 just recently.
My guess is that Lair probably isn't coming out until Fall 2007. Someone apparently noticed that the game was poo? History has shown that it's very hard to get a dragon movie or game right. Maybe they bit off more than they could chew?

rabidrabbit said:We haven't yet seen much of actual gameplay of Lair yet, but what has been shown mainly in form of stills, it at this stage has looked to be a very simple shooter.
Laa-Yosh said:I think we've seen absolutely nothing from the gameplay. Those images are from in-engine or maybe even prerendered movies, there was nothing to speculate from.
