Image Quality and Framebuffer Analysis for Available/release build Games *Read the first post*

It seems like as if you are in close contact with him regarding those things, aren't you?

It would be appreciated if you could ask him if Virtua Tennis 2009 and Virtua Tennis 4 for PS3 and Xbox 360 are also capable of rendering at full 1080p, just like Virtua Tennis 3, or if they are 720p only.

Could you do that and post the answer in here please ;)?

Okay , so maybe you could ask him then and simply post the answer later when he's back :D? Would be appreciated ;).

But in the meantime: anyone else here who knows it :p? 1080p for the sequels as well :D? Or only 720p ?

Came across those comments with search engine:

If they are correct (not sure), then according to them it seems like as if on PS3 and Xbox 360 both Virtua Tennis 2009 and Virtua Tennis 4 wouldn't offer a full 1080p rendering mode, although Virtua Tennis 3 does.

One might wonder why that is though . But who knows :D.

Maybe they had statistics on people who actually enabled 1080p? Or they just focused on the 3D mode instead. Or perhaps they simply couldn't have it due to RAM limitations. :)

edit:

Looks like I got a response: "Fairly sure they ditched it, but can't remember for sure".

:p

Virtua Tennis 3 seems to default to 1080p even if both 720p and 1080p are checked in XMB at the same time, so it wouldn't really need to be enabled through forcing (by unchecking 720p in XMB) or something like that. And about resources: the sequels at least do not seem to look that much more demanding, do they ;)?

But well, who knows :D.

And thanks for posting the answer .

There is the possibility that the people who bought VT3 did not even have 1080p sets (or even had the PS3 setup properly to begin with), but I digress. :)

It's probably more likely that they spent the time to validate the 3D mode.

The ones from Virtua Tennis 3 from GamerSyde.

The Virtua Tennis 4 shots from Eurogamer just look really familiar. ;) It's just that it's weird to see Virtua Tennis 4 on Vita look better than Virtua Tennis 3 did on 360, even if of course part if it is a better engine and art in Virtua Tennis 4.

Might be better to look at the Digital Foundry screenshots posted earlier to make such comparisons though, wouldn't it? ;)

And now that you mention it, is Virtua Tennis 4: World Tour Edition for PSV:

full 960x544? And what about AA?

:D;)

Virtua Tennis is one of the cleanest games on the Vita, and 60fps in gameplay too (not close-ups/replays)

Mind you in mostion there are typically some sacrifices anyway, such as in Fifa the audience has no animation, and I'm not sure they do in Virtua Tennis either. But the image quality of particularly Virtua Tennis 4 is pretty good.

Sports games can often more easily afford to do more though. I just started playing Wipeout on Vita, and that's a pretty crazy game, tech-wise. Sure it's not a very high framerate versus the console version, but the game still runs very smooth and looks pretty amazing.

I thought these new DMC screenshots looked interesting as well:

Thanks for replying . But anyone here who can tell if it is full 960x544 and if there is any AA (see post #1635 for some screenshots) ;)?

By the way, just noticed, that coincidentally those screenshots seem to be easy to compare as well (similar setting):
