Image Quality and Framebuffer Analysis for Available/release build Games *Read the first post*

I really see no significant differences between the two. No apparent texture or screen resolution difference, and I don't see any effects either.

Might be DOF or motion blur, or simply a bug of some sort... let's wait for the Digital Foundry article.

Mass Effect 2 Demo PS3

Demo is up on US PSS. Framerate is not so great and there is fair amunt of tearing - most in the overscan area.

Seems like a differently calculated specular for the skin. And a new more detailed armor model for Liara in the intro maybe?

Character lighting is probably more about the blending between n lights stuff...

Lens of truth so take with a grain of salt, but the shots show some more differences.

Shadows are much better filtered on PS3 but also it seems to have received some slight but noticable texture downgrades, like on faces.

The texture seems to be the same, but the skin shader uses it differently. Probably all the human characters will look like this in ME3.
Think about this, even if they were to reduce some of the textures' resolution if there was a lack of enough memory, they would definitely not start with the face of the main character.

The frame rate concerns are more of a problem. There were a few fights in ME1 that were more difficult because of the chopping, it can seriously hurt the gameplay.

Heres some more shots of both versions. I'll post it here since there are equal PS3 shots.

Missing contact shadow in the PS3 version? The hand is projecting a shadow onto the face and ear in the 360 shot.

It's doing it to in PS3 version. It's just that the hand is so close to his cheek that you barely see the shadow contour.

You may be right, also the lighting position could be slightly different too as the whole shadow is further away from the model in the 360 shot. Where are your screens btw from your previous post?

IGN is retarded, they practically did a front page blowout on how much better the PS3 version looks, and unless this PS3 demo isn't final, they look roughly the same. Although in Nebulas link I do think the PS3 version looks better, could be gamma differences, but it's obviously nothing huge.

I can't say I'm impressed by the demo. The story feels disconnected because I haven't played ME1. Even the demo references it a lot. The combat lets down because the weapons are weak and inaccurate.

Maybe the comic does a good job covering ME1 story. So that just leaves the combat. Does it get better in the full game? The demo let you play the start of the game, and a mission later on with more variety in the weapons and enemies. But it still wasn't very good.

What's even worse is that some people believed it and are trolling around the net boasting about how incredibly better the PS3 version really is.
And what's with the framerate, any first hand experience?

I don't understand why anyone is surprised didn't a rep from Bioware publicly say they will be roughly the same with minor upgrades.
