The GTX was launched around June 15/16th and the HD 4850 was launched around June 19th and the 4870 around June 25th, from my understanding.

Aye, Nvidia moved up the launch of the GTX 260/280 by one or two weeks to prevent AMD from launching 4850 first.

HD4850 was for sale at least in Asia well before launch, though, if my memory serves me right

Maybe you're only considering PC parts but Xenos was the first unified shader GPU.

No, care to elaborate? I have an o/c'd GTX 285 on Vista 64 and Forceware 190.38.

My GTX260 works fine in Vista64, though I don't think I have the absolute latest driver installed.

I read that as "When they see how awesome G300 is going to be, ATI will wish they had done their DX11 differently but they will have to wait until their next full generation in 2011 before they can counter the G300 awesome"
