Halo Anniversary

It's too bad none of the Halo mods for BF2 or 2142 were ever followed through. True battlefield combat within the Halo universe would be godly.
You might like Reach's Invasion game type. Not quite BF-style gameplay, but not far off either.

I always considered BF2142 to be my equivocal Halo meets BF type experience, since it feels (at least with the shooting) much more arcade in style compared to BF2. Dropships tend play a much more critical role in the game as well since they are so much faster and better armed that Helicopters. The futuristic weapons, launch pods, and settings in BF2142 I think are much more advanced than what we see in Halo. Master Chief would have a much easier time with those pesky Covenant if he had a Bianch FM-6:

Halo in general lacks certain critical weapons needed, like squad level light machine guns.

Pre-order skull trailer:

I like the new plasma grenade sound. :) The pistol swap sounds crunchier and clearer too.

Holy shit at the gaf haters. Bunch of whiny children.

Maybe they should make the deal sweeter by including all the DLC for Reach so far. :p At this point, I can't imagine them gaining that many more sales of the DLC, and it would just let them add value to the Anniversary SKU.

(Plus I've been holding out on Reach DLC because I prefer Firefight and they've done DLC compilations for Halo 2 and 3 before. >_>)

I've been moaning about the whole two engines in RAM decision, but it still looks sweet from the new vids and should be loads of fun. Definitely a purchase.

I really like the new look for the ring. mm... sparkling water. Fog + new islands are a nice touch. Environment shadowmap cast on the pelican too... Those water splashes look reaaaaaaally weird. I hope that's just WiP. Pistol looks more detailed when he's reloading (compared to Reach).

I always thought it was strange that the Pelican pilots pulled off flight maneuvers when there's nothing shooting at them.

The oversaturated blues and greens of the remake aren't as pleasing to my eyes as the more muted sea and vegetation and sky colors of the original.. I sure hope they allow us to do something with that.

Yeah.. certainly more colourful. I don't mind it.

Teaser for the new terminals they're doing (the uploader mislabeled it Halo 4). It looks like they're going far above and beyond anything Bungie did. Origin of the Halos and the Monitors perhaps?

Ehmmm.....just a correction though, the engine is not the Reach engine, even though some of the models are from Reach. Its Saber's own engine.

I meant with respect to Terminals and data pads. ;) All Bungie did was a bunch of text and audio.

Dont know have you read Halo:Cryptum so much info about the Halo lore.
Hell even with this i saw some of it back in the terminals.

Humans and prophets(older form not the old ones in the halo trilogy) were a alliance against the forerunners because of the flood spreading.

Yup. I'll probably have to read it again just before the second novel arrives. That book is loaded with a ton of info. Thankfully, some of it is easier to remember than others.

So , 640p for a "remastered" version of a decade old game ... to say it's a disappointment is not enough.
My confidence is restored , we should expect greatness from them for Halo 4 .

It would have been a disappointment if they didn't touch the graphics engine. Get real, nothing is free. Would you have been able to tell, especially with the post-AA filter? I'll take the upgraded graphics over a lazy and trivial framebuffer increase. If you want 1080p, go play Halo CE.
