I don't mind what they tried to do with the story, although the reheat of the covenant was disappointing, it was what they thought they could strip from the gameplay mostly for purposes of improving assets that showed that showed they didn't get it.
And when criticism is so specific and so core to the game series they have taken over then it's legitimate to continue bringing it up. You can't talk about Halo 5 without the misjudged central game elements of Halo 4 being your reference point.

Agreed. Also guys this is a H5 thread. It is a bit of a misdirect if the first couple of pages was all about H4. Each game should stand on its own merit regardless of who develops it. I'm big on RTS and rage over SC1 and SC2 is still not over.
It is a different game at the end of the day and people need to accept that just like they will need to accept 343i's vision of the game.
We could go through this argument with Mass effect and how that game changed over the series as well. There is no end to it, so let's just keep this about Halo 5. 2 hours to go to he proper reveal so if you can hold it in that would be great.

Man the gameplay they showed of Halo 5 guardians was pretty sick. The announcement about warfare mode was also pretty great. I do wish they would have shown some Chief gameplay, but it was a graphical wonder. I'm pretty sure it isn't native 1080 but who cares.

Weird, but to me, the new gameplay demo didn't look HALO , more like what Destiny looks like everyday mixed with blurs and COD dialogue, in terms of colours. Even Titans super was there with end boss popping up Vex style. Also, collapsing floors and walkways with explosions everywhere from COD are in Halo now. Yeah, evolution of the franchise.
I should just go play Destiny, I guess.

Yup looks closer to <900P. But 343 Frank O'Connor already stated 2 days ago in a NeoGAF thread that resolution was still WIP..
Then again, Alien Isolation has nearly as much shaded aliasing and it was running at 1080p...The Order and Ryse really nailed that issue tho

Halo 5, looked nice, not so impressed but it has been always like that with every Halo E3 trailer since the Halo 2 days.
Watched to two minutes in.

Levels are 4 times larger than in Halo 4, according to i343, we shall wait and see.
Were did you get that screenshot from?
Hopefully not just corridors four times longer, but volumes that can be populated that are four times bigger. Halo 4 banshee sections tended to be very claustrophobic. A 2x2 increase in the footprint of the play areas would open things up nicely.
I'm guessing they're not using Forward+ then?
