Grand Theft Auto VI [GTA 6]: What can we expect?

I would like GTA controls to "change" into something good. 😀
Replaying RDR2 will make you appreciate GTA V's controls! :yep2:

Poor controls and those archaic tutorial pop-messages that explain critical gameplay mechanics once, whilst lots of things are going on, and disappear after a few seconds, never to repeat, are my bugbears with Rockstar North games. They're still doing this how they did it in GTA III.

Never understood how they've not re-thought that until now either.

It's a certainty that GTAVI will feature the temporal upscaling techniques, something sorely missing from GTAV considering the shimmering it has for distant objects. While MSAA did help, it still wasn't good enough. Frame generation should be a given too.

puredark has now gone way beyond his usual DLSS+FG injection into games, patcheing hundreds of GTAV shaders to inject motion vectors. You can now use DLAA that produces very stable image quality, if a bit blurry, and FG helps with the graphics overhaul mods that still get 60fps lows with today's best components.

This seems kind of impressive, would it be hard? or tedious? or both? Has any other dlss mod managed to be modded into something that wasn't already creating the motion vectors for fsr/xess/tsr/taa?
I can't say to the programming, but there are close to thousand shader files for the mod. As for any other mod doing this, I'm not even sure nvidia/AMD have done it for some existing game.

The game looks phenomenal with the shimmering gone. It's not perfect and some things in the distance still do shimmer, but otherwise it almost feels like a different game to play with everything so stable during motion.
I remember downscaling from 8k->1080p and feeling the same way few years back, the fps was in single digits however. Now you can do 4k -> 8k -.> 4k + FG with this mod and still get over 100fps easily.

We can definitely file that under tedious at the very least.

This reminds me of a video I saw recently when watching some ac videos, they modded the gta5 map into assetto corsa, would make an interesting image quality comparison but probably not worth the effort with big ole 6 looming.

Oh dang. That's kind of one of my dream games - a very large AAA open world driving/racing game with proper sim physics.

Though man, as a track racer, it pains me to watch video of drifters like this for very long who seem incapable of driving in a straight line for even a second and having to listen to incessant tire screeching along with the engine limiter being pegged half the time...

haha I'm not a huge fan of drifting either, I don't mind a powerslide or drift if it actually results in a faster lap time (like casey stoner at philip island for example) but I do get roped into it by friends who like it when we hook up to play together sometimes.

You should look into some of the assetto corsa mods, some of the bigger free roam maps with the traffic mod can definitely give you kind of modern test drive experience with a full sim handling model.

I've got over 500 hours in AC, but it's been a while since I've checked out what the modding scene is doing with it nowadays. Will have to do that then, cuz this is pretty bonkers.

Where do you get the leaks from?

The gaming leaks subreddit is full of people discussing but no videos
