Grand Theft Auto VI [GTA 6]: What can we expect?

That looks way better than I was expecting. Hopefully no downgrades occur. Two years away though, damn! That means probably at least three years until the PC version.

We're already at the end of 2023... 2025 is 13 months away.

I don't think a January release would be likely.

I'm guessing at this stage an possible optimal Spring (April) 2025 target with a Fall (October) 2025 silent fall back to avoid a publicized delay before they're more aware of the timeline next year.

So it's confirmed there's no PC simultaneous launch. Which means 2026 or even possibly 2027 for PC players.

lmfao Rockstar... just f__k off.

So probably second half of 2025. If new consoles are happening in 2027, remaster and pc could release along that version or... year later for that rockstar triple dip.:devilish:

I'd be skeptical it would be that far back for the PC due to the likely ongoing GAAS revenue these days.

The problem with simulantaous launches is while people don't want to think of it this way, simultaneous launches really mean artificially delaying the lead platform.

I would not be surprised if Sony is throwing money and influence (due to platform adoption size) to push the PS5, if not the PS5 "Pro," as the lead platform.

There's also the elephant in the room here is that I would not be surprised if let's say GTA 6 on the PC comes with a new level of DRM controversy.

Didn't the MS/Activision merger depositions reveal that next gen consoles aren't likely until 2028?

It may not end at triple, we could see quad (or more) with streaming exclusivity or another party.

Just outside spit balling here but I wonder if Amazon, Netflix or Apple might make some move.

That's also a big driver to release on console only at the start with PC 6-12 months later. Lots of reasons for TakeTwo to say FU to PC.

At least it's current Gen only.

The big controversial play DRM wise would be to make the PC version more tightly integrated with online servers (ala something akin to say Blizzard and Diablo 3/4) even if you were to play the game entirely SP. This would also require more substantial reworking under the hood compared to the console versions.

There's no reason to say FU to PC gamers. Doing it like this only spoils the game for PC players.. as they have to see and hear everyone post and talk about it for months and months...

They just make the PC community more resentful to them and wanting to screw with their shit when it actually does release on PC..

It's 1H 2025, it was supposed to be late 2024 but they delayed it by a few months just recently. We also have no idea about platforms, they've done PC launch after consoles (if at all) for basically forever, getting mad over the utterly predictable is silly but without any platform symbols hell maybe it'll be different this time around.

Just got home and watched the trailer... yeah that does look impressive. By the time I play it on PC in a couple of years, it's going to be amazing.

Really looking forward to all the crazy Floridian events going on randomly over the place, or in missions. They have a lot of real life events to draw from!

Holy shit! The population and building density looks insane. Rockstar has nailed Florida culture, atmosphere, and current social media trend/gen very well, very well indeed! The wait for 2025 is going to be brutal... :yep2:

Edit: Over 26M views in 3hrs...

Formost, I am a PC gamer and modder/scripter in the GTA community... and yes, the PC crowd must wait again, but for me it isn't a biggie. Playing it on PS5 (or Pro if it's available next year) will hold me over, and provide me with ideas for the next mods/scripts that I want to develop for GTA6. PC gamers just need to expand their horizons beyond just one platform, because gaming on consoles is great and welcomed.
