Where do you get MS paid $30M for this? I believe MS loaned in the $20M range (each) to fund the Mass Effect trilogy and the Too Human trilogy as exclusives. $30M to move your release date up for a non-exclusiveto parity with the competition for a single title appears steep. Possibly well worth it strategically but still.
In an interview, then CEO of Take Two said that 30 million of it came from Microsoft. I'm looking for that now.

Ok, but Take Two also has a number of other exclusives with MS, for example Bioshock (and possibly other unnamed titles...) so their comment about "undelivered" content doesn't mean they paid $30M for GTAIV but for that plus Bioshock and whatever else they have going on.

Now that I think about it, that is true. Bioshock does share a games for windows moniker and I'm under the presumption that Microsoft will shoulder some of the marketing burden for this. It is also an Unreal game as well and they could be waiting for that engine to get sorted out on the PS3 before committing. However, I'm inclined to believe that part of that $30 million could be because of Bioshock as well. Good catch.

It's been a while since I've heard it, but it may actually be Cloudscapes. It's music from the score Glass composed for the film Koyaanisqatsi, which is itself another R* joke.

Much obliged! Turns out the song is "Resource," (so far as I can tell from the free samples) but the info you gave proved invaluable for finding it. Particularly that it was composed for Koyiina... Koyaanii... Konyiina... that movie you mentioned. :D

Sure. The music goes very well with the video in the movie, but it's a bit repetitive to listen to on its own (I say having just replayed Cloudscape and Vessels, prompted by this trailer). If you're interested in the music, I suggest you give the movie a try. It's probably the best way to experience the music.

Anyway, GTA IV--woo!

here is a scene-for-scene analysis of the trailer.. site is a little bit slow at times, but i think it's worth the download: http://www.gamevideos.com/video/id/10303

they highlighted and explained many little things which i haven't noticed at all.. there is some never-seen-before level of detail in this game that simply amazes me!
