Formula 1 - 2013 Season

Yeah. It's not clear how she died at the moment. Reading through what she's done in the last 18 months you'd have to say suicide would seem unlikely, unless she was hiding her depression really well. Perhaps some complication due to the accident.

Sad though. She seemed to have picked herself up after what must have been a traumatic affair.

More juice to the Red Bull KERS traction control (conspiracy) theory:
http://jalopnik.com/red-bull-may-have-invented-a-secret-new-hybrid-technolo-1442585020

Video examples:

Listen to Vettels car when he starts accelerating and compare it to the rest
And then listen to what F1 car sounded when accelerating when traction control was still legal:

Vettels Red Bull sounds awfully different from the rest and awfully similar to F1 with traction control

And did Vettel slip something out?
"We were playing around quite a lot with it in practice, but the first time it worked was in the race... I was quite confident other people would never figure out how we did it... We are pretty proud of the system we have because other people will never figure out how we’ve done it."
When asked about his upcoming 2014 F1 car, Vettel gave this further encouragement.
"There's elements of this year's car going in to next year's...things like traction control will obviously be..."
He then trailed off into a grin, reports the Times of India.

Interesting stuff. If its legal then fair play to them for finding the loophole. Its definitely not on the spirit of the rules though so should be banned.

That was his first interview after the accusations and he was obviously making fun of the whole situation...

Could be haven't followed the story that close, but then again, there's often a bit of truth in every joke ;)

They didn't just magic up a second gap over the rest in-between Hungary and Belgium, that's for sure.

Sad news about de Villota, that's just not fair.

This is nothing other than sour grapes, Kimi is clearly quicker.

Also; Hulkenburg to Lotus?

Could be interesting, hopefully the F1 do something to help taller/heavier drivers too.

Hulkenberg has competition for that seat at Lotus ;)

He is a great driver and deserves a good seat next year, Lotus might gamble on someone else though ...

Bell showed new Kubica's F1 helmet on their FB page with interesting tite: Kubica's new racing helmet 2013 & 2014!!!!!!!!
This title was then gradually changed and whole story backtracked to a gift. But why would Bell make such a gift and then in official response to e-mail enquiries replied it was made to order?
Their reply from today:
Dear Mr ***,
We did the helmet on demand. We have no further information.
Best regards,"
Can anyone here tell me which team colours this helmet is painted?
Why Lotus in not in rush to announce their drivers? Why wait? Hint: WRC2 season is still on and there is one more race for RK to participate before coming out with official informations.

To sum it up, this might be just my wishful thinking, but it looks like RK is going to replace KR at Lotus next year same as KR replaced RK till now.

Great qualifying at Suzuka!
It was so close between all drivers (maybe apart from RedBull) and changing wind just added extra tension!

Gratz to Webber for clinching his first Pole Position this year. Surely Vettel had KERS problems, but Mark did a great lap and that is what counts.

Hamilton, Grosjean and Massa excelled in their cars leaving their team mates a bit behind.

Tomorrows weather can mix a race even more and I do hope for a good start from Mark and Lewis so Vettel can't just drive away in opening laps :devilish:

McLaren have some interesting announcements to make reference new hirings in the technical departments.

Some are widely speculating that Adrian Newey is set to return to his old team... Personally don't believe it but would be amazing if it did happen.
Apparently its Peter Prodromou, Red Bull's chief aerodynamicist. He was actually at McLaren during the Newey era and followed him across to Red Bull. Supposedly theres more, according to McLaren.

Heres some wild speculation for y' all
During qualifying Kobayashi was in the Ferrari garage kitted out in Ferrari gear
Kobayashi to Ferrari next year ????

Edit: I cant believe I typed that
I totally forgot about kimi - DOH.......

Alonso might move to McLaren, so it's not impossible for Kobayashi to replace him :D
Anyway, I think he's there probably as the reserve driver and doing some publicity works for Ferrari. Never hurt to have a Japanese in Japan :)

Just watching the qualifying and its quite telling that when vettels Kers stops working he slides out of a corner after blatantly just flooring it like a teenaged joyrider.

You have to admire the genius but when traction control has been banned why make a system that does the same thing through a different system.

This is why people boo vettel and don't really like red bull.

Only if Alonso leaves ;)

But anyway, Kobayashi is driving for Ferrari this season, too, more precisely he's driving Ferrari's AF Corse in FIA World Endurance Championship

No question that Vettel has a faster car than Webber does. The ease with which he passed Grosjean on older tyres while Webber can't get past on new mediums says it all.

You never pay any attention, do you? Webber used a real wing with less downforce, giving him less traction out of the corners wich made it hard/impossible to pass Grosjean on the straight.

Well it's harder to know exactly what's going on when watching in a different language. I find it amusing that there is always some excuse for why Vettel's car is faster though, or has the better strategy for winning the race from behind.
