Formula 1 - 2013 Season

Yeah I hope so too obviously. It's kinda sad tbh, Alonso is driving out of his skin again but there's just so much he can do with the car. Vettel just seems to be improving though, and with the car advantage on top it's too much for anyone.

The Lotus will be strongest tomorrow again but I'm not sure Grosjean or Kimi are consistent enough to beat Vettel even when they have the best car. The Ferrari is 3rd fastest, simple as that, and the Merc's tyres won't last. Vettel and Red Bull just seem to be the package that works best in a variety of conditions.

Harder tyre sidewalls are helping both Vettel's and Grosjean's driving styles.
On Sky F1 yesterday Bullier told new front tyres are easier to work with for Romain than Kimmi. Kimmi was still looking for car set-up that would let him drive on them in his style.

I do hope Hamilton will have a good start to at least keep Vettel behind for the first stint. After that if Lotus can work tyres better and play strategy well they are within a shoot for top step!

I wonder if we will get SC this weekend ... tyres are strong now but this track have that amazing blind corner where you can overshoot easily!

SC is rare in Hungary, so there's about a 10% chance of an SC.

Fingerboy vs Grosjean, this should be good. Ham struggling now. PITS. Out behind Button, that's gonna cost him.

Grosjean all over Vettel now, he's looking really good for the win here. Wow Hamilton still ahead, Grosjean might come in next lap or is he 2-stopping?

Wtf is Lotus doing? Awful again by them, that's cost Grosjean way too much time.

Both Vettel and Grosjean stuck behind Button, this is really playing into Hamilton's hands, and Webber is looking in a great position too now.

Fingerboy proving he's better driving dodgems, he just can't pass anyone who isn't driving a much slower car without hitting them.

Always a better race when Vettel has problems :D Alonso right in it now.

Button doing his best to take out everybody? Oops no, Grosjean's fault :p That'll be a drive through.

The Ferrari's lack of race pace is just utterly bizarre.

Great stuff by Grosjean and Hamilton passing! Vettel out behind Button again. :D

Grosjean drive through as expected. That's fucked his afternoon. Actually it was for his pass on Massa, dear me that's unfortunate.

Yeah he's been unlucky on a few occasions.

Again we're seeing how important it is for the Merc to be first at the first corner. Hamilton's tyres are in better shape than many of the others because he hasn't been stuck behind cars all race. Think only a mechanical problem will cost him his first Merc win now.

WOW Webber passes Hamilton when he's in the pits, then Hamilton passes, running Webber off the track!

Vettel vs Kimi could be a good one, hopefully Kimi can stay ahead for the championship.

Kimi driving a wide car but he's running out of tyres I think. Lol almost shit myself there looking at the parked Merc! Rosberg out.

Oooooooh Kimi and Vettel. :D

Great drive by Hamilton, never under pressure. That's the first of very many I'd wager.

Alonso in real trouble, that Ferrari is a dog again.

Great race! Congratulations to Ham, very good, especially the fast overtake of Web after the pits.

Kimi, again, is really a beast.

Also very good pace from the Bulls, but their pit stops took a bit much time.

Yeah Hamilton never got stuck behind anyone, that's why he won it with so much in hand. At least 3 good passes after pit stops while Vettel and Grosjean were stuck behind slower cards.

Vettel "damaged front wing" getting his excuses in.

Fun race to watch!

I pity Grosjean as his overtake on Massa was the best of this race closely followed by Hamilton's outside of Webber.

I thought we should promote overtaking in F1 and not penalise so harshly for them. On many occasions before if the driver had no where else to go than off the track it would be deemed acceptable. Besides they were side by side before the corner and Romain was marginally ahead at the apex, so to me the corner was his to take. Silly ...

Button holding up Vettel really helped Hamilton, but Hamilton still did an amazing job.

Ferrari :( :(

I think Hamilton had enough even without Vettel being stuck behind Button (who imo had a great race, been impressed by Button in the races tbh in a shit car).

It's really odd how the Merc can go from sublime to ridiculous from race to race though. The best explanation for me is that they can win from the front, but can't handle being stuck behind any car for any length of time at all. Rosberg won twice in clean air, Hamilton once (and would have won Silverstone had it not been for the tyre blowout). Whenever they find themselves in the pack they go backwards at an alarming rate.

So if Hamilton is going to win this he needs to win from pole every race I feel. Rosberg is starting to fall back a bit and Hamilton could use him getting ahead of Vettel in qualifying. 48 points or so? It's a big gap and while I don't think he'll do it, it would be great to see and should make it a great 2nd half of the season.

I said earlier that the Ferrari was 3rd best but it's not, it's 4th best. For all Alonso's brilliance he just can't do it with a car that is basically 7th fastest. He's gone backwards since Monaco and it's been a real obvious lack of pace, just like last year. Now the Merc is quicker too in the race I feel, it's all over for him. He'll plug away and outscore the car's performance but Vettel will be 2nd, 3rd to his 4th and 5th on any track.

I think Hamilton would have won either way, but it certainly helped Kimi.

My disdain for Vettel as a person grew when Kimi shut the door on him on the 3rd or 4th last lap, and Vettel immediately whined about it to the pit. He may be a competent F1 driver but as a human being he is thoroughly unimpressive, IMO.

There was the usual Red Bull shenanigans, - sacrificing Webber to boost Vettel. Webber was told to box on lap 42/43 even though he had plenty of laps left in his mediums in order to position him between Vettel and Alonso.

Cheers
