Formula 1 - 2013 Season

Red Bull should be grateful if the tyres lasted longer Mercedes would benefit and they have been the fastest car for the last two events by some distance. With better tyres they'd put up a decent challenge

This is not surprising as at the start of this season people already were talking about Allison leaving Lotus.
I rate him very high and believe Lotus is loosing one of it's biggest assets, but this is how new talent is bread, so we might get a surprise from their new TD.

Hamilton for pole. Massively held up on his final lap by red bull and williams.

If merc fix their tyre deg problems the rest of the teams are screwed. That car is f'ing quick.

...

If merc fix their tyre deg problems

Why do I think those two things are on the opposite side of the compromise line. If they want to be fast, they have to be as aggressive to tyres as they are now... If they are not, then they will earn durability but lose speed

The Ferrari's seem to be losing a huge chunk of time in the final sector. I'm not sure they'll be good enough for the front row here.

The Lotus looks pretty horrible today in qualifying trim. Seems to have good race pace though. The Merc's tyres are not going to last that's for sure.

Nothing between the usual suspects here. Vettel, Alonso and Raikkonen all looking very strong for the race if they can qualify well.

 Again this. When will you understand that for Fernando it is not so important and critical to be on the front row , to win the race on Sunday? He just needs a stable car and with his best qualities, he will be the winner :p

Glad to know he is immune to other cars crashing into him.

I wouldn't say 4th fastest is exactly "horrible"?

He (Raikkonen) was languishing down the field earlier in the session before putting a late time on and Grosjean was even further behind. Must have been a setup issue but his car was all over the place on his first fast run.

You don't know fuel loads as they might have had more than the others and Grosjean didn't finish his low fuel lap because they wanted to concentrate on race pace the most.

I do think Lotus have 3rd/4th fastest car over one lap and pretty much 1st/2nd on race pace. I might be wrong after recent upgrades were fitted, but not by much.

I see SV taking pole tomorrow and only one stopping him will be MW or FA. Race ... who knows?

BBC thinks Lotus were fastest with Ferrari close and more consistent, then Red Bull. Merc on the long runs was slow.

I agree, the Lotus might be the car to beat on Sunday but I'll be surprised if it's not Vettel on pole.
