Formula 1 - 2009 Season

And Honda, because it's cheaper to fund the team than to lay everyone off. Also, Japanese honour.

So ING is not renewing their sponsorship with Renault. I am actually kind of happy since the ING colour scheme isn't very attractive. I'm sure Renault will get a new title sponsor for next year, but I sure hope it's not someone with horrible colours. :D

Regarding Honda

If this new entity wins the bid, do they have the balls to get rid of Ross Brawn? If they do, they have balls surpassing those of Stephen Colbert (character) and the brains to match.

Seems like Nick Fry is out of the picture (better him than Brawn) and that the contracts are signed and things seem to be a-go.

Here's hoping there will be 20 cars on the grid.

Edit: Brawn Racing? I actually thought it may be called that. I wish I'd written it here so I could prove it!

Edit2: Looks like it's Button + Barrichello at Brawn Racing. They went with experience in a year where in-season testing is banned, which would have made it really hard for a rookie even with such an illustrious name like Senna.

Hah, am I awesome or what?

Yes definately Here is a perfect quote from Celine Dion to describe how awesome I feel you are

You are the reason
You are the reason I wake up every day
And sleep through the night
You are the reason, the reason

In the middle of the night
I'm going down 'cause I adore you
I want to floor you

I'm giving it up
No more running around spinning my wheel
You came out of my dream and you made it real
I know what I feel
It's you
It's all because of you

 but honestly that change is great!

Haha! Well, let me just humbly remind you that I called it almost 4 months ago. I called it and I am much better than Bernie. He should resign and hand the reins to me! :D

Okay, it's finally official: Brawn GP with Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello, engines from Mercedes-Benz, the third team powered by them. It's funny that Mercedes went from supplying just one team for many years to suddenly supplying three.

Hope so, biggest waste of time since grooved tires.

Well I wouldnt be suprised if at the hight of the tire wars a couple of years back the grooved tires could actually produced more grip than the slicks we will be getting now. The slicks they will be using will hardly be close to the levels of grip they could produce if the FIA wouldnt basically be controlling how much grip there is due to limiting the speeds.

Relatively speaking, you are getting more front grip with these slicks because they are just as big as the rears. Moseley have said that they made a mistake making the front as big as the rears, the rears needs to be a little bit bigger.

Nice to see they are doing well at their first test, but the cynic in me says they are running light as a PR exercise.

Something has been bothering me. USGPE (formerly USF1) had to change their name due to pressure from FOM who insists they own the trademark F1, but their applications have apparently been rejected many times, leading to the FIA having to call the championship Formula One in all official correspondance.

But, teams like Renault are actually called Renault F1, Williams' trading name is Williams F1, BMW is called BMW Sauber F1 and Force India is Force India F1.

How are these names different from USF1?

Not I'd say. But maybe its because teams like Williams and Renault put it in more just to show that its their F1 team and with USF1 it was really a part of their name. So with renault F1 we'd be talking about Renault but with USF1 we would be talking about USF1 and not just US. Thats the best thing I can come up with...
