Formula 1 - 2008 Season

Quick turns + braking = not good, locks the wheels VERY easily and thus lenghtens the breaking distance, every driver should know that
If its already too late to stop then you have to do something. The choice is either go straight up the back of someone or look for some room; there was room to the left of Kimi.

I haven't heard or read about this personally, but apparently Hamilton said now to british media (ITV?) that he did see the red lights but didn't stop
Couldn't stop by the time he saw it.

Now where are the golden boy lovers? that idiot cant even tell the difference between 2 cars standing still and a red light and 2 moving cars and a green light. Ofcourse not to forget how his car by accident suddenly went into red car homing mode when it finally came into his thick skull that there were 2 cars not moving.

Anyway, BMW made the best out of golden boys incompetence and Massa put in another good fight. Seems like he's getting the hang of it.

TBH that's quite strange, F1's should stop pretty much dead on the place you break on those pitlane speeds (60 or 80km/h depending on track)
(not literally, but the braking distance shouldn't be many meters)

Well that's a bit much. At least Lewis apologized and I really doubt he was thinking along the lines of which car to crash into. Any racing driver in a situation like that would think survival first. There was no room to the right (of Kubica) so the only way would have been to the left.

Also it would have been logical to assume that Kimi and Robert won't stop because it's almost a routine to drive through those red ligths and take a penalty rather than wait for who knows how long behind those lights.

Still, really weird mistake by Hamilton and by Rosberg as well.

Its just a heat of the moment thing. You're pulling out a good lead, then all of a sudden the SC is out, everyone come into the pits (which may not have been expected in that scenario either), you've got a longer stop and all of a sudden you see two cars pass (and possibly seeing others behind) - you're probably thinking "F*ck!" rather than wondering what the pit light is doing.

Apologized... well.. I guess you can put it that way but saying "I apologize ifI ruined his race" after you ram to someones rear isn't exactly good apology :???:

He did? Not really. All he did was said a forced sorry because obviously him rear ending someone cant mean anything else than him screwing up but he made it pretty clear he doesnt think its his fault.

"I don't know what happened," Hamilton admitted. "I saw the two guys in front of me battling in the pit lane and I was trying to make sure I didn't get involved but then they stopped. By the time I saw the red light it was too late. It's unfortunate - I've apologised to Kimi but these things happen."

Asked whether it had been a "consolation" that Hamilton's race-ending mistake also proved terminal for his closest rival in the World Championship, the Englishman replied: "Not really. I'd rather it not happened. I was breezing it - it was going to be an easy victory."

Basically these drivers manage to avoid others when doing 200+ and others make sudden unsuspected movies but mr golden boy doesnt manage to do that even when going 80kmph....

Oh and dont forget he was breezing for a victory. Cocky litte basterd. Its to bad we dont have people like Irvine around anymore. If he did that to him baby hamilton would have been laying face down on the ground in under 3 seconds after which he would be told to fuck off with his blind eyes.

Bullshit. They are F1 drivers and they are paid very good money to deal with this sort of things. If he's putting more attention to a SC which he cant even see instead of the road before him he shouldnt be in the freaking car in the first place.

Read that post again and understand it.

All of a sudden its like these kind of mistakes have never happened before!

What I would like to see is a 5 to 10 grid position penalty for Hamilton and for Rosberg as well for the next race.

I'd really like to hear what was Kovy's problem. He really didn't seem to perfom too well this time around.

Interesting, first he says "it was too late when I saw the light" and then he says team told him there's a red light but "it was a little bit late"

Watching the replay, I really don't understand how he couldn't stop in time, he seemed to drive right into him.

Seems like he just wasn't paying attention, which is pretty unforgivable given what was going on at the time. It's pretty funny what car he chose to hit (if you want to see it that way ;) )

"I saw the two guys in front of me battling in the pit lane and I was trying to make sure I didn't get involved but then they stopped.

So he saw both Ferrari and BMW stopped and he didn't slow down ? That was just driving dangerously, in pit lane too. If there wasn't a red light, what did he plan to do ? Rammed both stopping car in front of him at max pit lane speed ? That's just crazy reply he gave.

You get DQ not drive through if you went off on the red light. I remember Montoya did it few years ago.

This was an epic grand prix, holy crap.

Hamilton made a dumb mistake, he ruined it for himself and Kimi. Renault messed up their strategy so they would at best get one or two points and not a podium as it looked for a moment there.

I think Heidfeld let Kubica go too easy after he did his only stop to come out in front of Kubica and Alonso, but it was really fun to see BMW get their first 1-2.

This championship just keeps getting better and better and even if it didn't rain in the race, it was just as thrilling as if it had.

Maybe more circuits needs to have really shoddy surfaces. :D

Edit: Hey, did anyone see that really hot pit babe that was holding Lewis Hamilton's sign. Damn!
