DriveClub by Evolution Studios [PS4]

I hate the drifting because I'm rubbish at it. This is my biggest sticking point in the game...I do worry that new content will be too tough for me.

Bravo! Honest question, can you do ~0.14 seconds better than this excellent lap?

Holy Shit! You make me crazy...I'll see if I have time until this weekend. I guess that there is a bit potential left...but I need concentration enhancing drugs or so to get in on the track

I'll report back soon

Beautiful. But I want city tracks! Bit bored of mountains and trees!
Harder to do with their art style? The different materials of a city, and the sheer volume of data, probably make it infeasible. The same dozen trees models can be plastered around for the great outdoors, but you'd need Project Gotham Racing style city capture for a city track, which'll be a lot of resources at this quality with time and weather effects. You'd probably need far greater lighting accuracy for the scenery too to capture smaller details (time of day shadows for signposts, parasols, etc, baked into the lighting model).

Well I'm not asking for the stars and the moon.
I'm sure they can build a city track at whatever level their engine will allow. Everyone else has managed it, from Gran Truism to Need for Speed to countless other racers.
Also, in a city there's a lot of flat surfaces from buildings. Surely that's easier to manage than the gazillion trees and waterfalls and animals and everything else we're seeing in today's Driveclub.

Admittedly, I haven't played DC in quite some time (glued to GTA V at the moment), but I'm pretty sure I have driven through a city somewhere in Canada. I think...

But yes, more cities please!!!

you can see a city in the background of the circuit tracks in canada, and the latest dlc canadian track too, but those are just simple buildings in the distance.

Got pretty close to Billy and Globalisateur on a couple of time trails yesterday with a few laps while I was waiting for the Assassins Creed Unity DLC to download.

Still don't have a hope in hell of getting the final star for the main tour though, I just cannot get a decent lap in with the Hennesy.

Add me to the list of B3D challenges, my PSN nick is DieHard_981.
