Dead space remake, Harry Potter game now this and next week Atomic Hearth ... damn this year is a real treat for pretty looking games and its only February :D

Slightly related to the topic of Hogwarts Legacy. How much data can game discs contain on XSX and PS5 discs?

Both machines are equipped with an UHD drive meaning that they should both theoretically be able to use 100GB discs for games. However sometimes it appears that PS version of a game does contain the full game on disc whereas the Xbox version only contains a partial copy. I believe that this is the case as well for Hogwarts Legacy. For smart delivery titles I can understand that they're limited to 50GB discs as the disc needs to work on the original Xbox One model as well, and thus often only contains the XB1 build, but Hogwarts Legacy isn't a smart delivery title.

This is at 1440p, Portal's regular settings are unchanged. RTX settings using "TAA-U" upscaling performance mode, medium default settings. On high and ultra presets, there is very bad artifacting. Overall, this is definitely playable, especially with freesync. Maybe not the best idea though considering GPU is pulling 350+ watts. Unfortunately, Xbox game bar didn't record at 60fps. Also, fps counter in bottom left though it is hard to see.

In a change of pace from the other bad PC ports before, Atomic Hearts PC port runs well and is optimied handsomely, VRAM is managed well, and there are no shader compilation stutter (they are precached at the start of the game). The game also looks massively better than anything else released this year so far.

Sounds good. Visually the game looks impressive as hell. Reviews are middling though unfortunately.

- All versions have a single display mode.
- In certain occasions the framerate is blocked at 30fps during the cinematics in PS5.
- Better shadow filtering on PS4/PS4 Pro compared to PS5.
- Loading times 4 times faster on PS5.
- PS4/PS4 Pro have less npcs and vegetation. Wind-generated vegetation animation has also been reduced (or omitted).
- Superior texture quality on PS5. Some materials have added tessellation. Geometry of most assets is higher on PS5.
- Draw distance is slightly longer on PS5.
- PS4/PS4 Pro omit some SSR reflections, but retain planar reflections and cubemaps.
- All versions suffer from some framerate issues with enemy animations. It contrasts negatively with the fluidity of the PS5 version.
- The streetlights in the PS5 version are poorly oriented. A careless and funny bug.
- Better interior lighting, ambient occlusion, better post-processing effects and particles on PS5.

"I can already tell you that the best version of Atomic Heart is for PC, and by far. Not for visual quality, but for the magnificent optimization it has had, achieving more than 60fps with maximum settings at 1440p (DLSS Balanced) with an RTX 3050. One of the best works in UE4."

Where's the ray tracing test for the PC version? I know they dropped RT for the console versions but as far as I know it was stilling to PC?

Apparently it's not present in the trial version, no info from devs according to computerbase. Let's see how the frame times and stuttering in ray tracing.
Native + Reflex is the relevant comparison point though.
Yeah but it's better than native, both latency and game fluidity.

"For those who have accessed the version of Atomic Heart on PC by changing the region in the Windows Store, the game is not Ray-Traced on Steam either, not that the Game Pass version is disabled. Ray-Tracing is coming to PC after launch."

The game was shown with RT years ago so I can't see why it's not available at launch, maybe an .ini tweak can enable it.

Yeah it’s pretty crazy. Atomic heart was one of the earliest RT implementations. Bizarre that it’s not available on day one. Maybe it’s ready but they didn’t want platform comparisons in launch reviews.

Atomic Heart, ray tracing poster child, won’t support ray tracing for PC on launch

I noticed the lack of ray tracing options in the review build we received last week, and got in touch with the game's press relations team to check if I was missing something, or if they were due to be added via update. The response confirmed that their absence was not an error, and that "the devs will be looking into implementing this post-launch." Well then!
