Call Of Duty Black Ops 3

Because there's really nothing new to do in FPS gameplay wise.

The natural evolution path is only "well, what if you had like...powers!" thus all the FPS games seem to end up in a robo-bat-techno suit.

I often wonder if Crytek looks on and thinks "we invented that, why didn't our game get rich!" or something (and yeah I'm sure they didn't invent it, you know what I mean)

Maybe next they should just use super powers and abandon guns.
COD: Mutant Ops or Mutant Warfare.

They will sell billions :yep2:

There's a ton of armed conflicts they can use, without going through the World Wars for the 100th time.
Napoleonic Wars, North vs. South, all the wars of independence that happened in Europe right after the World War I, all the Israeli wars after WWII, all the wars in Indochina (except for Vietnam, which is also overused).

But I guess exo-suits are fashion these days, and DARPA&friends thank the free publicity since that way they get more money for researching that subject.

Napoleonic wars would be a terrible choice for a FPS, I mean you would literally spend more time reloading then shooting ;)
I say any war/conflict after the invention/diffusion of repeating guns would do, so roughly any conflict after 1835.
Still nowadays every FPS has bows or crossbows so any conflict in the history of mankind could do.

Oh man, Outlaws was such an incredible game. Mostly for the story and animated cutscenes and MUSIC, but the shooter wasn't that bad either.

COD has always revolved around military engagements. As such anything from WWI and before is all rather boring from a gaming standpoint WRT a military shooter. Especially one that wants to maintain at least some semblance of reality. Even their Advanced Warfare tries to theorize what real combat and real technology might be available at that time.

Going from WWI and back, you'd have to either abandon the Military aspect, or go into high fantasy. Neither of which fit the COD franchise. Some of the small wars leading up to WW2 might be interesting, however. Smaller engagements with the World powers slowly learning what tactics to use with all this (relatively) new technology. WW1, as pointed out before, was all old stale military strategy with new technology = disaster. Even in WW2 some countries were still trying to use old strategies (Poland) and got steamrolled.

There's certainly a lot of small engagements that the British and French engaged in between WW1 and WW2 that might be interesting. But those engagements were small, and might not be a big draw commercially.

Regards,
SB

She outsmarts enemies by finding them before they have a chance to know what hit them.
o Weapon: Sparrow – compound Bow w/explosive bolts and variable range.
o Ability: Vision Pulse – pings the surrounding area and tags the location of all enemies within range for a period of time.

• Callsign: Reaper

world at the time. Budget overruns and embarrassing political incidents left the project all but a resource for scrap metal, except for the one prototype that remained.
o Weapon: Scythe – robotic arm transforms into a high power Mini-Gun.
o Ability: Psychosis – Infiltrate enemy DNI systems to simulate three instanced decoy Reapers.

• Callsign: Prophet

o Ability: Glitch – Flash back to a previous position with this system mod that hacks thebattlefield simulation grid.

• Callsign: Nomad
o Real Name: Tavo Rojas

o Weapon: H.I.V.E. – Deploys pod traps which release a deadly swarm of nano drones when triggered.
o Ability: Rejack – Recover from near death by injecting a nanoparticle serum into the bloodstream.

So each characters has "super abilities" now, inculding illusions of Reapers ! This could actually feel new when combined with 4 player co-op which will necessitate larger open levels.

Looks like its only me in this thread now, but here it goes, the new Zombies:

Strangely, this has the past vibe while the rest of the game has a future vibe to it. GFX don't impress much at all.

I have been playing Split screen CODs with my nephew for the last month and realised how fun these games can be. Still prefer Resistance over them, but CODs are fun in coop. Have just ordered a used copy of Black Ops2 as I never got to play it before and Black Ops was one COD after COD 4 which I actually liked a lot !

Call me old fashioned, but does anybody actually care about this zombie mode ? For me it's a useless addition to a franchise unsucessfully trying to re-invent itself each year.

Well, there are people who buy COD for Zombies alone, so yes there are. I am not one of them, I know :p ! But recently I played the coop survival in CODs with my nephew and frankly, they were some of the best co op times, triumphs and failures together. I have just discovered this fun, but yes, not zombies, i hate zombies in every game not just this one.

Checkthis out, ppl hooting to live trailer reveal, it got leaked :

Wake me up when Call of Duty drops all of the exosuits/boost jumping/instakills/sci-fi/circular maps/crappy three-four shot kill MK14/quickscoping/ and overpowered SMGs.

Well it's the new fad now :p

I am curious to see what'll be the next one

Played some of the beta last night. Mind you I've played little to no CoD MP before so I have nothing to compare it to, but it was pretty fun. They definitely took some things from Destiny as some things seem familiar, such as each class having some sort of special attack that needs to be charged, and some of these special attacks are similar to Destiny's super attacks.
