Maybe not as many as before but I'm thinking it's a lot higher than those using their PCs for DVD play back because the experience is a lot better. (Mind you there will be some HTPC users hooked up to their HDTV but now we're talking niche in a niche.)

I disagree. Consoles are competing more directly with standalone DVD players since you need to hook it up to a tv. With a PC you don't need to hook it up to a tv because it has it's own display device.

We should run a simple poll. How many people that have DVD drives in their PC use it for movies? How many people that have PS2s or XBoxes with the remote have used it for DVD playback?

I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree as I feel that having the experience be much closer to a traditional DVD player increases the chances by far of people using consoles for DVD playback vs. PC.
