BioWare coming to PS3!!

In terms of its Canadian connection, BioWare was at the press conference. It seems as though the Edmonton based developer will be starting a PlayStation 3 game in the coming weeks. So far BioWare has only made games for the PC and Xbox and has never made a game for any Sony gaming platform, but that is going to change. Details on what the game will focus on are not being discussed for the moment.

This is great news. Didn't they do KOTOR? Can you imagine Jade Empire on the PS3.

It's been mentioned before. Presence at a conference doesn't mean they're in any way involved in developing for PS3.

Are they just basing the fact that they'll be making a PS3 game on the fact that they were there, or was something said? If it was based purely on them being at the press conference, then as was stated previously it would in no way mean they were making a PS3 game.

There was a rumor about Kotor 3 exclusively for PS3 just before E3 started.
Honestly after Epic has praised the PS3 hardware and seems to prefer it over Xbox 360 and Factor 5 is developing only on PS3, I wouldn't be surprised if the Bioware rumor is true.
Also EGM was talking about a few developers that decided to shift to PS3 because of its power.

I don't think Epic prefers one over the other. As I recall, they were impressed by the PS3 hardware as they were by the X360 hardware.

I think based on the Mark's quote he may perfer the PS3, but it's only one quote and I don't know that he speaks for the rest of Epic (granted, if you have more information than just that quote please post!). Still, I agree with you in spirit. Epic certainly seems to have warmed up to the PS3 since nVidia got involved, and that Tim was willing to go out and demo their engine on the PS3 hardware in person lends some credence to it.

For now lets just wait and see if they come out and say one way or another, otherwise we're going to get into a piss match over what basically comes down to interpretation and opinion.

Just looking at the original post, the last line says "Details on what the game will focus on are not being discussed at the moment." Obviously this is speculation but that seems to me like it's pretty concrete there is a game and they're simply not divulging any details... So I don't see the problem with the title since the article at least believes that Biowars is working on the PS3. If anything, the article is wrong and mckmas8808 just posted an article with bad information but that isn't necessarily his fault. I'm surprised that some people can't get past childish insults aimed at others on the boards.

I really don't know why anyone should be jumping to conclusions just because someone shows up at a news conference. Jobs was spotted, and suddenly we had this iTunes rumors going around. Not to say none of it will pan out, but that's no basis to form a conclusion. I think it would be fair to speculate that JE or KOTOR may show up on PS3, but don't make it look like fact.

BTW .. just because a company like Bioware or Bungie have been xbox console exclusive, doesn't mean the people working there cannot appreciate PS2 games .. and vice-versa for Insomniac or whatever. Why wouldn't they poke their heads in to see what's up?

I tend to lean Sony when using my money, yet at the sametime I can look at things from a nonbiased perpective. I will probably never buy a Nintendo or Xbox product as long as Sony is in the picture, but that doesn't stop me from giving the others credit. For example...

1. Xbox has the best online expirence this generation.

2. Xbox has the best graphics this generation.

3. Xbox has the best FPS games on any console in history.

4. Nintendo has the best games for kids under 10 years of age.

5. Nintendo is the obvious leader in the handheld market and probably will be for a few years.

I don't have a problem saying great things about products that I will never buy. So yes I would say I'm unbiased when it comes to talking about videogames.

I prefer the color blue but that doesn't mean I'm all of a sudden going to discriminate against all other colors...
