    Broke out the thesaurus.

    Some guesses …

    revolutionaryFX

    extremeFX

    totalFX

    finalFX

    endFX

    explosiveFX (going back to TNT)

cFX (e=mc2 c being the speed of light... lightspeed memory)

    nFX

    radicalFX

Been lurking for a long time. Registered to feed the guess the name fire.

    Some other guesses:

    4DFX

GeforceFX (or even worse: Geforce 5 FX 7300)

    FXforce

    FXtreme

    MaFXimum

I really hope they come up with something better than any of these ...

    Umm, names...

How about just 3dfx. I mean, NVidia owns that trademark now. And why not be reverent to a 3D industry pioneer?

Hmm, I am not funny today, but who cares...

    How about:

    NVideon 9700
    .13Force
    Doom 3 Accelerator 1.0
    L3D Zeppelin

Also, know how ATI likes to put mean faces on its boxes? You know, the pissed off looking anti-heroes with glowing eyes and stuff? Well, I was thinking NVidia could do the same, except with smiley faces:

    Low end (GF4 Ti4200): :(
    Medium (GF4 Ti4600): :x
    High end (NV30):

I thought that "log in Nvidia network" was kind of neat... Too bad all its has in one screensaver.

The quick shot of the demo with the hair looks pretty cool. (Toward the end)

Kinda like lots of little tentacles on the head, but still cool.

Good god, does that video clip strike anyone else as being supremely egotistical?
And i firmly believe that the more fluff is presented, means less product is ready....

    I wouldn't really say egotistical.

I'd say rather incredibly corny, though. That voice...hmm...I'd call that a bit of over acting. Would fans really eat that video up? Found the total effort sort of ridiculous.

Hmm...maybe "pompous". The nature of the effort isn't inherently egotistical at all (IMO), but the presentation strikes me as perhaps self-important if they think all that melodrama is suitable to stand by itself.

Well I'll be damned. I learned one thing from the video: its not n-vid-ee-yah, its n-vay-duh.

    Wierd. :p

    It's n-vay-duh?

When I watched the video I thought he clearly said n-vid-ee-yah, not n-vay-duh.

If they name it 3dfx, I'll buy one for their balls. :D
Last time I heard, the Mr. Huang couldn't say "3dfx" without converting to "3D graphics" LOL..
