Registered May 22, 2001. Probably just a name they were thinking of using for something last year (Alternate name for the GeForce4 Ti or MX?).
I really, really hope that the new name is not reminiscent of the current GeForce name at all.
Yeah, GeForce is kinda lame at this point, especially considering what it originally meant
I was just thinking more along the lines of attempting to state, via the name, that their next card truly is something new. I'm pretty sure that when most people hear something like GeForce, GeForce2, GeForce3, they just think that the one with the higher number is faster, and that's all.

Well this is interesting.... it appears that Nvidia also owns the trademark "Vforce", however it says that it was abandoned and is currently listed as a dead trademark. Hmmm... I wonder why Zforce is still listed as live? They were both applied for on the same day.[/i]

Zforce is currently the only trademarked name for a GPU the Nvidia has the rights to. Surely with the launch rumored to be next month, it is too late to trademark a different name. Time will tell.

It is doubtful that it was a proposed name for Nforce. The Zforce trademark is listed as the name of a GPU, where as the Nforce trademark describes intergrated circuits.

Actually, I have just recieved an email from one of my suppliers.
The new card will be called VapourForce.
Apparantly, I will only be receiving empty boxes with the specs of the card on a piece of paper (doubles as a coupon) inside the box.
You send in the coupon and your card will be sent out some time next year.
