AMD Radeon RDNA2 Navi (RX 6500, 6600, 6700, 6800, 6900 XT)

489 USD when I looked just now. Sold out. And even if it wasn't I wouldn't be able to buy it anyway since it is in store only and there are no Microcenter stores within a few hundred miles of me. :p

25 stores nationwide. There isn't even one in every state. There isn't even one in half the states since some states have more than 1 store. :D

Hence, I only really look at stores where products are available to anyone in the US. But it's good to see that at least some people can get it for under 500 USD ... when it's in stock and not instantly sold out to scalpers. :p

As mentioned earlier the product availability is pretty fluid as evidenced by the product selling out in that store, though other stores do have availability at the same price. If you are lucky enough to live near a state junction I guess it might be a worthwhile trip for some. Living near major metropolitan centers does have some advantages.

I look at any store for product availability as I consider it a a huge perk to have additional purchase options like "in store sales only", even though availability is not guaranteed.

Is there a game that the 6500 XT won't run? I wasn't aware of any.

Depends on how you would count it, but in Control the 6500 cannot - or rather could not, when I last checked a week or so ago - enable Raytracing. Does that count?

Not really, because if it did then no video card other than maybe the 3090 would qualify as a card that could run all games for me as I don't find the performance of lower cards to be desirable with RT on nor do I find the current generation of RT in games to be compelling enough to warrant the performance hit.

Fair enough as a subjective PoV.

I mean it's the same question as whether every modern video card made should be able to run Ultra settings in every game available at the time the card is launched.

IMO, that's silly. Lower quality settings exist for a reason. Not everyone can afford to spend 500+ or 1000+ USD for a video card. It's just unfortunate that with the current market conditions what should be a budget priced card (the 6500 XT) is selling for the price of a lower midrange card. The same goes for the 3050, what should be an upper range budget card is currently selling in the performance card pricing range.

The important thing, IMO, is that a card sold today should be able to run any game released today. Not that it should be able to run with all settings on max or even potentially with all settings enabled.
