No, I'm getting 495 now.

Edit: After a couple refreshes (pump/dump)... now I'm getting 1k available. Inventory has been updated.

That's probably where you messed up. Refreshes screw with it I've noticed.

To avoid this just change the quantity by 1 and press "update". For example if 999 in cart, change it to 998, and update. Next time, change it back up to 999, update, and so on.

Seems fair to me...

Not sure how the US exchange rate automatically affects a product made in China by Corporation based in Japan. Also, I know that my wages didn't just go up by 10% despite whatever economic warfare / shysterism happens to be going on in the money markets at the moment.

=)

Cheers

Not specifically sure on Sony, but many electronics manufacturers write their contract in dollars so as to minimize the impact of currency fluctuations. Because the US tends to be one of the largest consumer market, this works well. With the rise of the Euro as a united currency and a fairly substantial market, there has been some movement in using it as a standardized currency as well for contract purposes.

In other words, it may be that Sony has their costs fixed in dollars instead of Yen for at least the portion of their consoles that they expect to sell in North America.

Don't get me wrong, I fully understand why Canadian citizens would be insulted at the price increase. Like you said, your wages didn't go up just because the value ratio of Canadian currency to the dollar changed.

At least the initial contract prices were set in dollars. Around the time of console's price reveal and the dropping of the camera, another part of the discussion was that Sony was getting profitability headwinds due to the yen being stronger against the dollar than it was earlier.

PS4 has dropped to 5th on Amazon!! I'm kind of amazed.

In a way we could be seeing the end of PS4 supply constraint...

Surely there is surely limited brick and mortar availability which could constrain sales, but when a product is available on the nations largest retail website it's hard to call it generally sold out in a way.

This also makes at least 5.5 days in stock (I first noticed stock at 1 PM last Thursday, currently almost 6PM following Tuesday). Stock may now be selling slow enough to make a sellout more difficult.

Infamous has also dropped to 3rd...which is a bit disappointing I'd think. Didn't Titanfall only go up until release?

At this point it even seems plausible the Titanfall bundle (9th) could overtake PS4 hardware. I mean at least for the first time it seems imaginable. XO outselling PS4 on Amazon would be a wow.

Slow down, your wishful thinking is killing your logic. Infamous is battling the in-stock PS4 which tends to spur the PSN card sales. TF only went to #1 the day before release and the day the PS4 went OOS. Infamous isn't out until Friday. The list is relative sales, so if something shoots up to #1, it appears like everything dropped one slot, but in reality they could have all increased in sales. Conversely if something spikes up and then drops down quickly, items appear to have moved up, like with the Skylander's pack that jumped to like #8 yesterday due to the sale price, but now is dropping back quickly.

All items in the top 7 are related to PS4 sales, they feed off each other. Also PSN cards have a much larger userbase to sell to than PS4 games, obviously PS3 and Vita owners buy them, but they track strongly with PS4 console sales.

I have a few potential reasons why the PS4 is not first. PS4 is more readily available... amazon is no longer the only online retailer with PS4s, and people at GAF are saying B&M stores are starting to get them.

Also, PS owns 7/10 spots in the top 10 and they're all pretty much helping each other. The camera could also crack the top 10. PS cards are probably being purchased more than before with hardware sales going up, and quality software coming out.

Like I have said before, amazon's rankings are no indicator of sales rate because there are several factors that can cause their rankings to change in a given month or week.

Also, FWIW, famousmortimer at GAF said to not sleep on Infamous... sales between Infamous and Titanfall are very close. Not sure if he meant in the US only or worldwide. If he meant the US only, I'll be surprised... I thought Titanfall would comfortably outsell Infamous in the US.

^Not really surprising if you consider that the PS cards are almost always in the top 10 at amazon. Right now the $20, $10 and $50 cards are in the top 4. The highest ranking XB card is 17th.

I think a lot of PS4s are being sold this month, which is increasing PS card sales.

LOL

Second Son hits #1 on Amazon finally. PS domination for 1-7. TF 360 ready to pass TF XB1 at #13 and #14 despite the second delay.

Infamous already reached 1st before. The PS cards dropped it down a few spots and now it's back up.

Also, the PS4 camera has sold around 900k units to date is severely supply constrained.

At one point yesterday, the PS4 camera was in the top 10 and PS held 8 or 9 of 10 spots.

Bestbuy also has PS4s in stock. As expected, now that Chinese new years and the launch in Japan are over, there should be a lot more PS4s this month for NA/EUR. Should be a big month.

Yup, noticed Best Buy both the website and pretty much all local Best Buy stores in my region (8 out of 10) have PS4 in stock now. Along with still Amazon for about 6 days now.

Truly large shipments have come, lets see if they last. March should at least give somewhat of an idea of a non supply constrained PS4 sales (not to say it cant slip back into constraint).

If they dont have to worry about Japan any more (now probably down to a 25k/week 100k/month sustained pace) and I imagine there's no large markets left to worry about launching at, then they should be able to focus their 1 million a month or whatever on USA/Europe and we should get into stock.

Sony will then be challenged if they achieve stock, to stockpile before holidays.

Heh, Titanfall XBO is #4 in Sweden weekly charts http://www.gfkhitlist.com/game.aspx (Titanfall PC is #1)

But XBO hasn't launched there yet.

It's "unofficial channels" stuff.

I'm interested to see if TF will get #1 in other Euro countries, given XO's supposedly weak position outside UK. I suspect it will, as it's probably not particularly hard to top a weekly chart.

Edit: Titanfall XBO also #5 in Norway, #15 in Finland, #11 in Denmark.

Kind of interesting, another reason why I dont think missing those small countries was such a big deal. They obviously already have a presence there at least.

I wonder how much say a #11 weekly position in say a Denmark is worth? Hundreds of units? Dozens?

LOL

Everyone with a PS4 should actually get one. For e.g. Tomb Raider voice commands actually work, even with my dutch accent (when you say "map", a map pops up) and the Playroom is quite fun. Love the new game with the little robots.

Agreed that the Playroom is fun, but it's certainly not 50€ worth of fun.
I own one and I can say that, at least for the moment, the PS4 camera isn't a worthwhile purchase.

The PSEYE is getting a second life because of Playroom, Twitch and Ustream. The "voyeuristic nature" of watching someone live is appealing to some, especially outside the scope of gaming. Last week, some nice looking Brazilian chic was cooking dinner... scantily dressed of course; while bouncing happily from one part of the kitchen to other. Had a sh** load of viewers... me being one of them.

But yes, the PSEYE IMHO, is a fairly worthless device (gaming wise), other than watching hot Brazilian chics trying to cook. :devilish:
