Zhuge is now posting regular sales/analysis articles on https://zhugeex.com/
edit - NPD report is out http://venturebeat.com/2015/10/19/september-2015-npd-ps4-wins/
PS4 won, NBA 2K16 and NFL 16 are in front of MGSV [no bundles or digital counted].
Isn't PS4 tracking PS2 sales quite closely?Interesting that this generation is going to be the worst console generation (in terms of hardware sales) since the Sega Saturn, PS1, and N64 generation. Gen 6 had the PS2 to promote massive hardware sales. Gen 7 had the Wii to massively boost hardware sales. Looks like Gen 8 thus far isn't going to have anything with a similar effect on the industry.
And NPD has finally stopped including PC sales in its general release to the public. About time considering probably greater than 90% of PC sales are now digital.
Interesting that XBO lead PS4 in 4 titles while PS4 lead XBO in 5 titles. Granted, for Destiny's expansion, PS4 sales were reduced due to the bundle available for it. Although the same could potentially be said for Madden NFL sales being reduced due to the XBO bundle for it.
Not surprisingly, XBO tends to take the lead in family friendly titles (Minecraft, Disney). Let's hope that Microsoft doesn't decide to focus entirely on family oriented titles.

Isn't PS4 tracking PS2 sales quite closely?
It's been covered widely that PS4 reached 20m and 25m global sales faster than PS2. I don't understand SB's analysis at all. Is he saying that despite PS4's great start, Xbox One's sales will make the generation an overall failure in terms of sales?Isn't PS4 tracking PS2 sales quite closely?
If PS4 was doing the same as PS2, then combined with XBO performing better than X360, this generation would be blowing the PS2 generation away.

“After 23 months on the market, combined PS4 and Xbox One sales are 40 percent higher than the combined 23 month totals for PS3 and 360”
Those are the brand loyalists. They're the minority. The fact Wii U could only attract some Wii owners is why it isn't setting the market on fire. And the brand loyal is maybe 10% of Wii owners, though likely less than that if we consider those buying for the franchises and product specifics rather than blindly on the name Nintendo.LOL. You want quotation wars.

I was having a think about the system loyalty and going through all of the machines that I've owned in the past and all it demonstrates is that I have no loyalty whatsoever!
