XB1 is going to need a lifeline of Japanese games or something... LTD sales might be worst than XB360 once everything is said and done.

Ouch for Xbone.

We shall see if Destiny has power to boost PS4 sales for a longer time.

Best Smash launch of all time.

I dont know if 23k is something to crow about, but I guess for Japan these days it is.

One will definitely sell less than 360 in Japan no question about that. Looks not even remotely close.

I predicted 7k second week for One...reality was 3k.

23k isn't too bad considering Destiny isn't a system seller in Japan. Once the PS4 actually gets some eastern titles, the PS4 will start selling better.

Microsoft's ability to sell in Japan is severely limited by the fact that it's not a Japanese company. They shouldn't spend too much time and money trying to capture that market because a relatively strong Japanese option will always win. Apple is the only western company I know of that's been able to make inroads in Japan, but Sony has something like 13% of the smartphone market and Samsung is pretty much non-existant. In the rest of the World Sony is a non-player, around 3%. Even if Xbox One was a significantly better product than PS4, it would be an uphill battle.

Apple is the largest smart phone shareholder while Sony is like #4, so I'm not sure how that example helps make your point. Maybe they just don't like the XB1?

Okay, since you all seem to be so biased and so emotional about this, let's start with a very basic question.

Have more PS3 users upgraded to a new console (regardless of brand) or have more 360 users upgraded to a new console (again, regardless of brand)?

And please, use some sort of statistics in order to support your response.

Absurd! You need to prove that people upgrading is people unhappy with their product. I was very happy with my dreamcast, but I upgraded to something new/else, but that doesn't mean I'm unhappy with the dreamcast!

Early report from Japan paints a bleak picture about Bayonneta 2 sales. But lets wait for official Media Crete/Famitsu reports in 2 days.

Truthfully, Nintendo did a bad job promoting this game. I did not even know that this game is already out, and I barely saw any video. Maybe they did show someting in one of their numerous Nintendo Directs, but that promotion is aimed only at hardcore Nintendo fans [and looking by WiiU sales, we already know how many of them are out there].

How bad are we talking? Hyrule Warriors just launched last month, and took a month to sell a 100k there. I would expect nothing better for Bayonetta 2 there. If Bayonetta 2 is going to do well, it will be in the US. Keep in mind that its Nintendo's loss, they funded this game, so if its doesn't sell well, its Nintendo's loss. With the Wii U's install base, I think expecting much over 500k sold before it hits bargain bins is pretty unlikely. A lot of Japanese Wii U gamers are also buying digitally these days, I remember Capcom saying that Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on Wii U was actually selling better digitally than it was at retail. I will be interested to see Media Create this week.

Most likely the next sales announcement will be either 15mil mark in december, general "Sales until Dec31" on PSBlog few days after NY, or Sony FY report in mid/late January.

Seriously, is XB1 even turning a profit after all the game freebies, exclusive deals, multiple price cuts, marketing, and whatever else MS can think of on moving units? I'm not talking about the XB game division as a whole, just the XB1 pulling its weight part of it.

I can't help but feel the $299 rumor around Black Friday is going to happen... maybe sooner.

Microsoft (unofficially) cuts Xbox One UK price for the third time
The price for an Xbox One in the UK is now £100 less than it was when it launched back in November 2013.

Although Microsoft has not officially announced this new price drop, Eurogamer spotted the new £329.99 price on the UK Microsoft store. The senior producer at Microsoft Studios European Publishing Nick Ferguson also tweeted about the new price tag.

Xbox One launched back in November last year for £429.99. This was then cut in February to £399.99 alongside the launch of Titanfall, although this was a UK-specific cut.

I don't follow their logic on how its a price cut of 100, seems like entirely different SKUs.

Xbox one and Kinect for 429.
Xbox one and Kinect for 399.

Xbox one without Kinect for 349.
Xbox one without Kinect for 329.
