[360, PS3] Crysis 2

IGN vid on YT

There doesnt seem to be any HQ version of the IGN vid available. The "HD" version available to insider is only 41MB and not very HQ...

Anyways, if they have MP looking this good on 360, I am pretty pumped for what they can do in SP.

GT just put a couple vids up

Looks kinda washed out and flat, with some jaggies spread about.

Dont look washed out to me but there is jaggies and shader aliasing visible. Also in some scene views the background kinda looks flat like if the buildings didn't have proper lighting or fog canceling out lighting.

Here for example fog looks nice and buildings better so dunno what is going on.

Otherwise it's very impressive and running on 360 and taking dynamic factor into count. I dont think anything like this has been achieved on consoles previously taking tech and visuals into count and this is multiplayer, not singleplayer!

Edit: nevermind noticed the "P", PC shots, bummer.

Can't wait to get home and check out the footage.

Only one and it might be an error or PC running that version at 360 settings or such for that shot. Certainly doesn't look better than other shots though particle effects look quite highres.

Nice, those shots look fantastic for console.

Certainly looks to have the potential to be the best looking console FPS this generation.

SB

Can't wait for the demo tomorrow gonna camp infront of my laptop and 360 playing brotherhood/Fall out new vegas and F5 on the xbox site to push download.:???:

I'm not blown away (yet), but I think it looks great. I think SP will look even better.
I just hope the PS3 version is okay. Will be interesting to see the DF article.

Some of the pics from Gamespot.

Not really impressed to be honest. The jaggies are really noticeable, textures aren't exactly stellar and the draw distance is really not all that with heavy fog and low res assets. I fail to see what's so technically advanced in this level aside from the lighting in some places, surely they can do more with only 6 vs 6 right?

It just looks like a blend of Fear and some other shootery gun thingy. On this evidence it's certainly not mixing it with the best the console(s) has to offer.

Alright, quick question on the demo being released tomorrow... typically the demo is limited to 1 hour of play time, correct? Is that limited to all accounts on the console or per account? I'd like to try this demo out when it's available, but if it's multi-player based I'd also like to be able to game with friends too but that means waiting.

Thanks for answering these rather basic questions. I usually just purchase big name games that look to be good and let word of mouth from friends influence the outer fringe purchases.

Well thats pretty much is a trademark for console games. Texture filtering will suffer, textures either are decent to lowres with mapping or decent to higher res with baked mapping (quite a lot of that in U2 and seems to in U3 game and KZ3 footage). I agree though draw distance aint that much but it does keep a decent amount of detail for surroundings. Usually bigger draw distances in other games is just pretty much nothing but ugly low detail low geometry surface with some 2D layers to simulate geometry at distance if even that. I am sure Crytek wants to stay way from that as they have done with all their previous PC games. But yeah it would have been more grand if it was bigger though this is multiplayer with probably some things cutback.

As for player count it most likely would be to taxing with more considering visuals, realtime rendering factor and dynamic factor with all the destruction possible and all dynamic things to track per map. Though PC version will have more players.

Anyway other things that stand out is the shadow quality and even at distance it keeps it quite smooth. Nice HDR and bloom aswell as godrays really sets it apart from most other console games aswell as the dynamic factor and playarea (atleast SP).

That said it does really stand out in motion. I apply the same slogan as used for Killzone, it's looks much better in motion. Especially the third GT video at end showing the Pier map and all the destroyed objects on the ground.

Haven't heared about it being limited to 1 hour playtime but I've heared demo will work for around 1-2 weeks. Also demo is only multiplayer based.

The Crysis 2 Multiplayer Demo will feature the “Skyline” map , and two game modes; “Team Instant Action” and “Crash Site”. “Team Instant Action” pits two teams against each other as they kill as many opponents as possible to earn higher ranks. In “Crash Site”, players will battle for control of alien drop pods, earning points by guarding their pods and keeping enemies at bay .

Crytek and Electronic Arts just announced that a multiplayer demo for Crysis 2 will be available exclusively for Xbox LIVE Gold members starting next Tuesday (January 25th). A new multiplayer gameplay trailer was also released, which you can watch below. The trailer and the demo feature the 'Skyline' map, previously know as 'Rooftop Gardens'.

Yea but Nebula original shots that you posted are 1080p at some sites which makes me think those are PC shots on some medium(console) settings with no AA.There also seem to be OMB missing in shots and its definitely there in videos.

Other than that Crytek UK disappointed me really...SP looks MUCH better for simple reason as there is much more decals,it looks more "mature" and TOD seemed better.MP,as always, looks worse with any game but the thing that bothers me is that for ex. Rooftop map looks like something out of kindergarten. All those buildings in background are just basic boxes, that black sky also looks meh,fog 20 meters away from building, and all those colors are just like playing COD with Halo "theme".That night map on the other hand looks good but its just waaay to simple. There are only buildings and fire here and there,it looks very empty. And it should be way darker with more light sources, more decals like cars on fire and such...then it would look much better,I'm convinced.

Anyway, graphics in general look hot.I'm impressed that NOTHING was left out and SP will only look better, cant wait to see it.

It feels to me like the engine isn't streaming nearly as much high res textures as say kz3 Bilgarsk Boulevard map and the texture quality overall is better in the latter. Maybe the campaign would have some AF and more parallaxmaping perhaps.
In motion it looks fantastic indeed, the OMB and lighting are really working things out here.
