[360, PS3] Crysis 2

It's using object based motion blur. That effect is PC-only.

Im pretty sure uncharted 2 and Halo:Reach have Object based motion blur. And the multiplayer didn't looked that impressive for pc footage.
Not sure either if its console footage. Draw distance looked better then what we got to see on that gttv footage.

I would say it is becouse of the stage setup with ~10 monitors each with keyboard and mouse and wired 360 pad. If it was 360 demo showcase why have PC peripherals present. However I could think it is ~360 specs based or such.

U2 is nothing alike in size and use of tech or rather non baked tech. Same with Reach. Though it didn't look flattering if PC version.

Neither U2 nor Halo:R are using CE3 right? OBMB has been absent in ALL Crysis 2 console footage released so far. The only other instance apart from this in which OBMB is present is in the E3 3D trailer, which was confirmed to be the PC version.

GI was also on, something we haven't seen activated on consoles so far. Plus it's coherent with the latest multiplayer screenshots, which are from the PC version as well and look about the same.

well the only thing pre baked in UC2 looks to be the radiosity...and what about GOW3 ?.
GOW3 calculates GI in realtime?

It's more than that, take a look at their released documents. Also take a good look at surroundings outside playable area and outside expected movement path.

About GOW3, you mean OBM? Yes but your comapring different types of games with different workloads. Controlled camera in GOW3 allows for excellent pre-placed culling barriers etc. One could also question how much gets OBM, player + 2-3 nearest characters or player + bosses etc. In Crysis games as has been everything gets it from particles to spawned geometry from effects and well pretty much everything. Ofcourse the could limit this but so far it's been absent in all console gameplay footage, IIRC even fullscreen motionblur.

Btw has these screens been posted?

Said before release. You tell me the reviewers and players around the net are lying?

http://arstechnica.com/gaming/reviews/2010/03/god-of-war-3-review-this-is-the-way-it-ends.ars

God of War is a third-person action game with some light platforming; you view the action through a fixed camera. Not being able to adjust the view may continue to rub some gamers the wrong way, but it allows the director to set up the action in a way that wouldn't be possible with a player-controlled camera, and some puzzles and secrets depend on you looking in a certain direction at a certain time.

I could give you more or of these quotes but this goes OT so EOD.

Reviever vs. developer? Who to trust....?

This is just rhetorical question ;)

End product and not beta stage product.

They both could be right. There are situations for both in the same game (fixed vs variable cameras).

To address both scenarios, the developers may find it cleaner (or have no choice but) to implement for the worst case. i.e., the variable camera case.

The rest may depend on the artists' time and talent.

Are these from the console version?

I have no clue. They dont 'rock my socks' either. Well not when I look at the plants texture and geometry quality. For a game with such little fooliage it is jarring to se it being far less detailed and complex than in Crysis Wars. Also to low-res PP but whatever. I'll be gaming this at 120fps and not a click below.

Lets pretend they are console to cheer me up!

The Crysis 2 MP looks rather disappointing. http://www.gametrailers.com/video/gc-10-crysis-2/702949

Maybe it would look better if there was decent quality vid, but so far it almost looks like any other generic shooter. Much of the graphical sheen of SP is lost. Maybe Crytek are not console miracle workers after all.

Edit: Maybe I'm being too hard on it, I guess it still does look pretty good.

Dont know but the gameplay looked staged around 2:20 you see a enemy not shooting the player that gets projected on the bigscreen.

And players are bad i mean how can miss a standing target (first kill).
It looked really unresponsive if you look a bad player play the game.

Glad they are having a beta(360) somewhere this year.Probably have to preorder to get in because it's a closed beta rather have a open one where every one can break the game and they can fix it before release.

I don't think that has been confirmed as I have only seen one link reporting the news.

Ooh did not know that because the link was also talking about special editions and such. But i do hope they give a open beta without preordering nonsense of i have to buy a other game for it.

Still wondering where my summer ghost recon beta is that came with my splintercell copy.
