CosmicQueso on GAF:

So, biggest 8th gen HW unit sales month ever. Console order rank in aggregate good. PS4/Xone were predicted conservatively, Wii U too aggressively.

Enjoy the PR.

For reference GAF november aggregate numbers:

1. PS4 - 1257K
2. XB1 - 1108K
3. 3DS - 425K
4. WIU - 334K

*Runs* Grabs earlier predications... and now the waiting game begins.

Anyhow, NPD this week is going to be very interesting.

Predictions.
PS4: 2-2.3 million
XB1: 1.7-1.8 million
Wii U: 230-245k

PS4 won. http://venturebeat.com/2015/12/10/playstation-4-outsold-xbox-one-in-november/

“PlayStation 4 is the top selling console in the United States during the month of November according to NPD. We have hit several key milestones over the last few weeks. Prior to Black Friday, we announced we have sold through more than 30.2 million PS4s to consumers around the world and that PS4 continues to exhibit the fastest growth in PlayStation hardware history. In addition, Black Friday sales were the strongest in PlayStation history demonstrating more people game now than ever before. We are also pleased to announce November was the biggest month ever for PlayStation Store indicating a strong digital marketplace complementing healthy retail sales.”

FYI: Amazon still predicting those champs... lol

Biggest BF in PS history. That's something.

PD: Over 1.5 Million :O

PD2: Around +100% YoY

PD3: To put into perspective, best (november) PS2 month 1.32 Million

>1.5M for the PS4... that's crazy! XB1 was close to last year according to Zhuge. Great numbers all around, especially for Sony. That's the first time I think I've underestimated both XB1 and PS4.

I suspected that the Star Wars and CoD bundles were negatively affecting Sony's October numbers, more so than any other bundle that had pre-orders months before release.

Also, from the sounds of it, RoTR didn't even chart in the top 20... ouch. Halo 5 also didn't make the top 10 I think?

Amazing turn of sales after Sony's performance in last November. They offered universaly praised T-rated remaster package for the same price as competition [who had only M-rated bundles]. They even smashed their November PS2 record [1.3M]!

PS4 total install base is easily over Sega Genessis [30.75M] and when we add international sales [which are very strong], it also surpassed N64 [32.9M].

Poor Lara.

PS4 BF best seller even with the bundles. Very impressive.

PS4 BF best seller even with the bundles. Very impressive.

Not only that, but BF bundle DID NOT get a BF weekened pricecut to 300. Only UC Bundle got $50 off in November.

In December however, bot UC and BF got pricecuts, and BF bundle is leading over UC [dat movie hype].

I wonder if Call of Duty: Black Ops would favor PS4 more, if the bundle was factored in!?

As well...

I wonder if Fallout 4 would favor XB1 more, if the bundle was factored in!?

It's independent of BF week results. The whole previous year of sales means there'll be more XB owners than this time last year. It's basically a given that use of the platform has increased. The only time you'd see usage reduce YoY is when people aren't using their device, and that's Bad News.

When I said "that's fair" I was referring to your statement and agreeing with it. The only useful piece of information was the sales increase.
