Xenos´ tech demo

I think jvd's comment made sense, what's the problem?...

I reread the series of posts, and you're right, it makes sense. I misinterpreted what he was saying.

My bad, jvd. I take back what I said. It would make sense that an established demo could be ported to an established GPU. Mostly b/c Sweeney mentioned that they hadn't really gotten into the Cell yet, so it was mostly the GPU doing the work. PEACE.

Its no problem. Just next time reread .

I'm watching smallville season finale . god i love erica durance !

sorry whree are you going with this ? Most developers for sony don't have cell chips or rsx chips
The main thing I'll add to that is "who's proposing to launch in 6 months?" I mainly expected to see more concrete showing-off from Microsoft because they're supposed to be closer to launch, have gotten concrete numbers to their developers earlier, final silicon earlier...

Mainly, I just want something to soothe my inner geek. I'm not going to pay attention to a white-paper number comparison regardless (nor take so much offense to it as many seem prone to) and I'm not going to judge a game until it's actually OUT, so in the meanwhile I just want to see some nifty things. The MTV rabble-rousing does nothing, really. I want keynotes to be nerd-strokingly good! :p
Well don'tforget that sony had to show its specs . Ms already announced most of it a week before . For ms to go on and talk about the specs again would be redundant . at least in my opinion
Not really, since they didn't show off "what the specs mean for Xbox 360" the way a nice and imaginative tech demo will. E3 is not the show where they have to cater to the mainstream... that's where the hardcore, the press, and the huge fans converge.

I'm more of a purist. Lana still makes me feel all funny inside. ;) But I have to hand it to Smallville... their female cast manages to be quite attractive without breaching the usually "uber-pretty" image WB tends to. Ms. Kreuk comes closest, but she's been grounded a lot better the past season or two than the first two. ^_^

Now that you brought it up, though, I might have to fantasize about the late Ms. Alicia Baker a bit... :D

I watched it today also. It's funny the show really isn't that good, but I have seen every episode, And I even own seasons 1 and 2 . And you are right, Erica is VERY hot! Lana is so yeasterday... :D
The season finale was quite good just like the last season finale, but that advertised 90min was a bit rip off since it only lasted about 10 minutes more than a regular episode...

as has been talked about sega launched the dreamcast in japan a month after the developers got final kits .

From what i understand ms is sending out r500s in june . So its just the cpu that they will be behind on the cpu .

We don't know sonys time table and it seems like the rsx just tapped out last month , which means it could be another 4 or 5 months before they get final revisions of that
. Its also my understanding that they do't have final cells yet either

watch elder scrolls and gow demos . They are both breath taking .

ms catered to the press with the behind the doors gow , pdz and other showings that were playable .

For the others that were there they saw more of the x360 on the floor with full auto and other playable games like kameo (sp ?) .

The press confrence was to get across what xlive wil lbe as its going to be part of every game

I have, and they are, and hence I want MORE like that. ;) But more to the point, I like it when hardware manufacturers show off neat bits of their tech in imaginative, homegrown ways.

Except IMHO, as a huge nerd, companies making big presentations to a whole CONVENTION of huge nerds should be showing this off front-and-center rather than behind closed doors. Especially if you have decent playable content--show that off first in front of the people who'll be giving you their money for it! (At the very least show off one or two prime examples.) I don't think you'll find too many people here who didn't watch 8 people get up on stage and play Mario Kart wirelessly and managed to keep EVERY drop of drool from hitting their keyboard. ;)

The press confrence was to get across what xlive wil lbe as its going to be part of every game
And hence a more lackluster conference than it could have been. It's a big, powerful and versatile machine... Show me some of ALL of it!

okay haha . Dunno what to tell you there . I was pretty excited when they talked about gotham street racing and the tournys they talked about .

Its apparent to me that they have a launch coming in 5 months and have other things besides playing with ducks in a tub . U know ?

Ms didn't make a press confrence in front of the whole convention it was before it even started :) two days actually :)

Well the thing with mario kart is that the ds is finished hardware and the game is launching next month in japan . So its not the same thing .

I wanted to see more games but well they just weren't ready .

did u stop watching at some point ?> cause they showed u all the big games !!!!

Sony presentation was more technology-focused while MS was more concept-oriented. Being technology enthusiast, I preferred Sony format. I could see however that for many "normal" people MS conference would be preferable, since it actually explained what it will do for them while Sony had a lot of numbers and charts regular people don't know/care how to interpret.

I must say after watching MS's pre-conference then going to E3 I would say MS did the right thing, but probably should have explained why they did it in that way. After looking at the games in motion on the conference floor, then visiting the ATI booth and watching the Ruby Demo in real time and seeing it paused and manipulated, the XBOX360 games proved what the system could do.

The software backed up the system, and the conference explained what people could expect from XBOX Live.

That Demo was beautiful, and the Xenos is one hell of a graphic card. Sure it did not have all the bells and stuff, but it was very impressive, along with looking at some of the other games on display.
