Somebody in L.A.?

I'll be there. If any of their silicon guys are there, I'm hoping they at least acknowledge my technical questions :)

Yeah, try and squeeze a clock or teraflop number out of them, and if they try to fob you off by saying PR bluster like 'Xbox 1 is a state of the art machine with more than 5bn transistors etc', bring up the PS4 being more powerful as the reason they won't give you a straight answer and make them uncomfortable.

It's what I'd do

Given that Windows 8.1 will support Miracast wich relies on Wifi-Direct, Does it open the door to "remote-play" in Durango?

What do you think? Xbox-surface in the horizon...

Pretty sure they're going to have remote play through the SmartGlass app. If that's not confirmed already, I'm just going to make it an educated guess.

Control will be even more of a challenge than Vita will be for PS4 emulation though wouldn't it? How do they solve that?

I support this line of thinking sure, but they can easily weasel out.

One of their guys already said "we'll have the best looking living room games". Even if XB1 is markedly less powerful, it's not an objective term and they can claim it all they want.

Whenever there are "best graphics ever" threads on GAF, inevitably some people vote for Okami PS2. Similarly MS can claim to have the best looking games if they want.

And that's just one of a million ways a trained PR speaker could dodge.

I'm not sure how control would work.

Either by letting you pair the controller with the device/screen, or having the controllers work at long range from the console itself. Not really ideal for tablets or smartphones, because you'd have to sit them down in a way that you could look at them while using the controller. I expect it's more likely you would play sitting at a computer.

I already use my xbox 360 controller on my surface pro. Perhaps on the 8 inch tablets it would be easier to make some type of snap on controller screen but I wouldn't want to hold any of the 10 inchers for long while playing a game.

I wonder if we will see the xbox surface at e3 .

He is stating $$325 for BOM

15% of that is ~50 USD

I don't think $275~$375 BOM is anywhere out of the ordinary for the Xbox One is it?

*fix for mix up of prices

So it costs the same or less than the WiiU to build?

The only time we will ever probably know is when MS claims a shift to profit on the units.

If the Xbox One doesn't support Miracast, then it's the absolute worst case of corporate division ever. However, during the Xbox One architecture panel, they talked about having multiple antennas for sending and receiving data at the same time.

I don't know if miracast is supported, or if it matters. I suspect they would want the primary display to be connected via hdmi for cec, multichannel audio, etc. Not like the Kinect is wireless, so you have to solve the cord problem somehow. Miracast is more important for laptops and tablets which aren't normally permanently associated with a particular display.

Xbox One will certainly support remote rendering to companion apps on mobile devices via Wifi-Direct.

Thought the protocol is more likely to be RDP/RemoteFX than it is miracast. Even sounds like they are supporting Xbox 360 (and therefore hopefully Xbox One by extension) controllers in certain Windows8 and RT app store games like the upcoming Halo Spartan Assault. http://www.wpcentral.com/halo-spartan-assault-interview Fingers crossed they will do this for the companion app as well, though probably through the console due to its iOS and Android support and need for some type of dongle.

From NeoGAF (thuway):

I am not trying to bring out the MS Defense Force at me, but I've heard GPU clocks might be downgraded. 8-900 gigaflops for gaming. The APU is big. This isn't 100% confirmed though and is being done to improve yields.

800GF?? WTF?

That would a significant down clock, larger than on any console I can remember this late in development.

Yeah, I wouldn't put any stock in that. (And no, I don't know anything, but I do know they would have to drop to 600mhz for that much of a downgrade, and that seems extremely unlikely)

Now an article saying similar things

http://www.stfuandplay.com/story/co...-clocking-xbox-one-by-100-200mhz#.Ua6w90Cnzrw

About a month ago I was told by an unnamed source that Microsoft was having heating issues with the Xbox One. There wasn’t enough details to go forward with a story so it was kept under wraps until more information surfaced on this issue. Today, a completely different source close to the Xbox One project, informed me that Microsoft will have to under clock the Xbox One about 100-200mhz to fix the systems heating issues.

so its looking like xbox one is having problems . Wii u may get 3rd party games if the 800-900gf downclock of xbox gpu turns out to be true.

Ps4 looking mighty strong at this point.
