Poor choice of words if you ask me. Nintendo should be and flattered!

With a name like '360', I wouldn't be surprised if MS' campaign tag line for the machine contained the word 'Revolution'.

They may not announce specs. on MTV but they will have to at E3. All the press will be there to report such details.

Has there ever been a console unveiling where they don't announce the specs?

You would expect Sony to so it would be difficult for MS to blow it off and say something like, "It's all about the games, the software, the service (XBL), the tools (XNA)."

MS needs MTV more than MTV needs MS They're not going to set aside 30 minutes of primetime for a videogames promotional gratis. A lot of people tuning into MTV that night will probably be wondering what on earth they're watching, and why it's on MTV. MS will be paying very handsomely for the pleasure, I have no doubt.

What else is MTV going to do? Play actual music videos? Shurely you jest. This is big for MTV. Nothing better than a little free programming that will probably be hyped out the wazoo. Doubt MS is paying that much.

I thought the name "XBox 360" was just a rumour, and not a very likely one either. The site that broke the news is calling it Xenon and J. Allard has used that name too. In the end I bet it will just be called XBox 2; the name XBox 360 is too stupid and Xenon has already been used by intel marketing campaigns.

That's exactly what Microsoft is doing by unveiling its next-gen Xbox on the "Music Television Network" a whole four days before their scheduled E3 press conference. The 30-minute show will air at 9:30pm EST on May 12 and will be hosted by Elijah Wood as well as feature performances by The Killers. Game Informer's Billy Berghammer contacted Peter Moore, a veep over at Microsoft, and squeezed this out of him: at the show, gamers will be told the name of the system, see the system and controller, and view a few quick snippits of gameplay. He also confirmed that it is a ploy to one-up Sony for already one-upping them.
