X-Men 3

FINALLY seen the movie, right to the very end after the credits as advised and i have to say.... i absolutely LOVED it. I don't care how broken it was, how short it was, how it could have been this or it could have been that: i loved it, it was very entertaining and at the end of the day, the comic has decades of stories to convert to screen, of course it will NEVER fit perfectly in one movie, or even three. That's why i think a TV series would be absolutely perfect. I would be disappointed if they used different actors though.

I absolutely loved it, i would have loved to see a bit more destruction on a larger scale by Jean, like she should have, but who cares? Get over it.

Can't wait for the next movie, and if the rumours about the TV show are true, count me in.

Halle Berry said on an interview whilst promoting the film that if it did well and made money, she had no doubt there would be another one. There's already plans for a Wolverine movie. Knowing how the studios work, as long as this one sells, they'll keep churning them out.

Even given the way a run of films like Superman or Batman went into the toilet, that didn't stop later movies coming back and doing well.

Just seen the film. My opinion? Meh.

The weakest of the three films IMO, just slightly worse than the first (I've never read the comics, by the way). I did quite enjoy the second film.

I didn't stay to watch the clip after the credits but it is exactly the kind of thing I was expecting. Ditto the 'cure' not being permanent.

The problem in having the all-powerful unstable mutant is that it just makes the storyline too predictable. You can tell from the first how she is going to come to her end.

Personally, I think we need a break from Comic book adaptations. God knows there are plenty of good SF/Fantasy writers out there so why don't Hollywood get one of these too write a screenplay original and coherent? Something with a bit of ambiguity instead of just goodies vs baddies.

Interesting ethical point...

Spoiler ( possible - although everyone on the planet must know by now.. )

It was interesting picking up the ethical choices my by Charles... first with the initial "lesson" talking about being ethical to move another persons mind into the vegative body. Then with the argument with Logan when initialy trying to reset the mind blocks against phoenix.

I think that Charles could have killed Jean as a last resort, but instead when he saw Logan he shied away from that extreme measure and retreated from his body.

Enders Game is being made into a movie. 2 years out, but it should be a very interesting movie.

One of my favorite book series ever. I think geeky boys everywhere immediately understand Ender, and if they follow the first book there is a lot of different situations and people for viewers to associate with. The problem is translating it to the big screen. My guess is it will be dumbed down and all the story telling gets neutered and it turns into a boring and odd sci-fi story about killing big bugs. I hope not, but Hollywood misses a lot more than hits the mark. I would not be surprised if the Transformers movie, the Halo movie, and Ender's Game all end up being really bad  Why cannot Peter Jackson make every movie hehe

I'm surprised about Ender's Game being "movified". Quite a tricky one to produce I would have thought so it will be interesting to see what they come up with.

The Enders' Game might work better as an animation, or not.
Who's making it? Any info on cast?

I read Miyazaki is making a film based on some of Le Guin's works, is that just a rumour or is it confirmed? That could be good.

You're partially right. His son, Goro Miyazaki is said to be working on Tales from Earthsea.
