Does look great. Wonder how much or a corridor/cutscene shooter it is though sometimes that can just be some mindless fun with a good script and action.

Long story short Wolfenstein: The New Order is a fun, perfectly balanced, exciting, and brutal FPS that is sure to be a standard for years to come.

I fully expect that critics will praise the game... but somehow I don't expect large sales number. Reviews will come on release day, this gamersbliss article covers only 2 hour demo.

Gaffers who got the game report that the game is indeed as Machine Games described it "an action adventure game". It's not 100% manic shooter all the time, there are stealth sections and chapters where open combat is minimized. There are several "wacky" weapons that allow different manupulation of nazi's and objects.

Game reviews dont really effect me when buying games. I have found I may enjoy games that are panned by gaming journalists. I have also really hated games that received good scores like Ac4.
Im a fan of old school shooters and a fan of Machine games prior work. Wolfenstein TNO is a day one for me. Im sure I will enjoy it plus there is nothing else coming out that interests me until september except maybe Watch Dogs.

Metacritic score is ~ 79, but not all reviews are up. It will go up or down one point. All in all, it reviewed well, good fun game as expected.

So far I've downloaded 1/3 on PS4. Will play tonight/tommorow.

It installed pretty quick! The day one update is a drag (5192MB - ~8 hours on my connection). Going to give it a quick blast now, mayhaps it will temper my Warframe addiction!?

It's definitely not going to win any prizes in the looks department! It's got a last gen feel to that is only betrayed by how smooth it all is. The gibs are very old school!

Haven't played very far into the story yet but it does have the old school - cover is for wimps - play style. Picking up armour and ammo is a bit fiddly as it's not automatic when you move over it. So it's not 'Wow' so far more 'Cool'. Let the wholesale slaughter begin!

I forgot to say that the game came with an audio CD - the full songs from the trailers and more. All in German of course!

since pc board is pretty dead, any way to get HBAO+ in this game or even Rage? I know the ini for Rage has a SSAO function but it didn't do anything.

More interesting are the GPU benchmarks, this game seems to favor AMD to an INSANE degree. The 6950 is as fast as a GTX 670!!

EDIT: And the 280X is faster than the 780Ti at 1600p. What the hell have the developers done with this game?

True, even a GTX 580 is faster than a 680, something fishy is going on here.
