Wolfenstein: The New Order

Bethesda rep confirmed yesterday on GAF that their internal playtesters are able to finish the game on their first run in 15-20 hours. So game is not a small one.

Yeah the game actually starts to look more and more interesting and fun. Id really needs a hit game by now, even without Carmack...

Oh and can't wait to see Doom 4. Many years ago I've seen some actual info on the game and that was kinda interesting but who knows where it is today...

Video looks good. Doom3 and Rage were pretty dull, I hope they pull this one off.

Rage was a lot of fun to me. Old school gunplay with beautiful environments and some nice basic RPG-like stuff on top. Didn't really like the racing part though...

id isn't developing the game. The developer is MachineGames / Zenimax Sweden and they might have some former Starbreeze people.

Main creative people behind Riddick/Darkness games are making Wofenstein, so in this case I think we will end up with the pretty awesome game. Game that will mix good gunplay, worldbuilding and characters.

We will see end result in just 6 weeks.

As for outsourcing, Machine Games asked for Wolfenstein IP.

What is it about IDTech games that makes it so identifiably ID?

Like looking at Wolfenstein has this startling resemblance to Doom 3 and Rage? I don't know what it is, and I can't put my finger on it, but it's just so IDTech

The only Wolfenstein games made by id were Wolfenstein 3D and the addon Spear of Destiny.

Gray Matter's Return to Castle Wolfentein was excellent. I beat that again a few months ago actually... The end boss is the weak point of that game though. I haven't played enough of Raven's 2009 Wolfenstein game to comment on it. I did pick it up for my recent Xbox 360 acquisition but have barely played it.

I have no idea what to expect from MachineGames aka Zenimax Sweden. It does say they have some Starbreeze people, but ummm that Syndicate game was pretty bad. Riddick Dark Athena wasn't super great either. We'll see. The new Wolfenstein game's setting sounds fun at least though!

The only bad part is that its published by Bethesda and they bring games at 1.5 times the regular price for us. But I will get thats, new , used or whatever way ! If the digital version is normally priced, then Day 1 it is !
