One benefit that iphone users scream about is that it cuts down on viruses or other issues that can be encountered when you get installers from other stores or random websites. What's so special about the windows store we've had the ability to install programs from the internet for decades

a buddy of mine was insistent to get discord from the windows store some years ago and when he told me i was like "ok i dont think there is an official discord app there" and he said "oh it must be i paid 10 dollars for it" and i was like "what?!? discord is free" and of course it turned out to be a scam but thankfully not a virus so i guess thats a win for the windows store? yay?One benefit that iphone users scream about is that it cuts down on viruses or other issues that can be encountered when you get installers from other stores or random websites.

Search "Microsoft Authenticator" on the App Store. Cutting down on malware my ass. The first result is always a sponsored scam made to look like the real Microsoft Authenticator (the icons are clearly designed to fool someone who has only been given a description of it). It's incredible that Apple allows this. Almost criminally negligent IMO.One benefit that iphone users scream about is that it cuts down on viruses or other issues that can be encountered when you get installers from other stores or random websites.
The Copilot Runtime on Windows 11 uses advanced NPUs in next-generation chips like Snapdragon X Plus and Snapdragon X Elite. Microsoft has integrated 40 AI models to allow Windows 11 to incorporate new AI features. One of these new AI features that is being widely talked about is Recall.
...
Recall would be using Copilot+PC's advanced processing ability to record everything the user does on the PC. This includes app activities, live meeting communication, and even the websites searched for and visited. With the help of a timeline feature, you can go through the activities that are displayed in a proper scroll manner and date back several weeks.
...
Microsoft did address the concerns by suggesting the Recall index would remain local and on-device, with encryption to ensure the feature is only linked to specific user profiles. For now, the Recall will be coming to Copilot+PCs and will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon X Elite chip. This feature is not available to older versions.

still a bad feature but now slightly less terrible, but not much
well its going to be off by default but the fear is that its a deep feature that cant be removed and then it can be secretly used by malware (other than the official recall malware)It's going to be fun figuring out how to turn it off. I'm guessing microsoft will make it difficult.
