I thought M+ actually increased the precision of the pointer, too.

AFAIK the "pointer" is a camera inside the Wii controller and IR lights on the sensor bar, this wasn't upgraded with the M+.

The M+ adds a "gyroscope", which is a very accurate way of measuring rotational changes, but it 'drifts' so using it as a 1:1 pointer wouldn't work very well.

My own choice for motion controller that I'll buy is 'PC mouse' (when this one fails) - but it's not on that list :(.

Again, I was under the impression that the pointer is more than just the camera, that it uses actual motion control to better figure out where you're 'pointing'.

It is certainly theoretically possible! I can't remember if I read about it though - maybe check the Iwata Asks episode on Wii Motion+ to see if it mentions it.

I'l be buying Move. It being compatible with hardcore games is the main selling point. Also i expect some really interesting ideas from Sonys 1st party over the next few years.

Kinect is just an Eyetoy clone for kids with similiar software aswell. All the lies they spouted at E3 09 have slowly been unravelling in the last few months. If Sony had done that the games media would be laying into them.

My wife won a Wii (+ 2 bundled games) yesterday in a waffle. She was going to get one with her mileage points ^_^. So I guess I'll have ample time to compare Wiimote+ and Move in the coming months. \^o^/

Waffle? Is it with strawberries and whipped cream? Or are you posting as Bugs Bunny?
:)

Sigh~~ first MGS Peach Walker, now Wii Waffle.

I think I'm destined to start a gamer food business.

I let the kid try Wiimote (no gyro) boxing today, I finally realized the draw of motion gaming, at least for my family. It's to waste the kids' energy so that they don't have much left to bother the parents anymore. It works rather well.

EDIT:
I also noticed that Wii's pointing function is rather temperamental. I remember struggling with it at launch. Today, my kid passed the controller to me to help him point and click ("Daddy, you do it"). This is definitely a "must improve" area for Wii.

I will get Wiimote+ adaptor soon to see if it helps in the pointing function. I know for sure we will love Wii Sports Resort.

I and my wife had a lot of fun playing Wii tennis with the wiimotes, but we've done that now. Need something new. Now, I've got a 3d TV and have tried out some PS3 3d demos, and those seem like fun. I'm thinking Move can bring the Wii experience to the PS3, where I can also have HD and 3d, too. Sounds interesting. If there had been a poll option "Do you already have Wii MotionPlus and will you buy Move, hoping to recapture the Wii experience but with advanced graphics?", I could have voted for that.

Kinect, so far, just doesn't sound interesting to me. But I'm probably unduly influenced by MS antipathy and just the ugliness of that name "Kinect". (I disliked "Wii" for a long time.)

I'm interested in Move, but I'm usually within 3 feet of the screen when I play games. I'm not even sure these things would work in my setting and so voted none instead.
