anybody has a sugestion from where we could preorder a PSP from?
a good reliable online dealer ?

anybody has experience with lik-sang? nscx? (psp preorders are closed )

Most places have prob stopped taking preorders since Sony will only be able to deliver around half a million units by december. Looks like the ps2 launch all over again.

Almost all japanese online store stopped taking preorders after a few hours.
Therefore, it might indeed be the PS2 japanese launch bis repetita.

Hence, i doubt that importers will be able to have a lot of units in stock.

It's called an artificial shortage so that:

1. If sales actually tank, they can have an excuse to use as damage control.

2. If the small allocation of 500K units sell out they can say, "Look this item is the sh*ts selling out in a few weeks!"

 ;)

You really have a distaste for Sony!

i managed to preorder from liksang. (2psp's)
if i'm going to receive them, that's another thing.. :?

Given the relative lack of PSP dev units pretty much illustrates that the retail PSP shortage is "natural".

You can lol and wink all you want PC, but you must be crazy if you believe there's even the slightest chance sales will tank. Crazy f-boi even actually.

DS will get more kiddy-oriented games, more 2D stuff, pokemon, platform run-n-jump stuff, maybe a collect-a-thon from Rare even. PSP will get more standard action fare with more emphasis on graphics.

PSP will get watered down PS2 ports with nothing new to add to the game. NDS will get innovative games that make use of the slylus, touchpad, and dual screens. ;)

Since it neither behooves them them to miss the holiday selling season nor lag behind the DS, I rather assume it has to do with them being behind on the manufacturing cycle and still having to ramp to include higher numbers and more regions.

Of course I'm sure you'll figure out a way to blame them for having "manufacturing problems" AND practicing artificial shortages...

Take your hate some place else please. :) (Anyone of us could go into the plethora of inane titles coming out for the DS that are a joke but what would that serve in this topic?)

What does what you and I like have anything to do with PSP games offering nothing new while NDS games do? Unless you think PS2 ports as offering something new.

It's your inane thread crapping (and no, I'm NOT saying you're the only one) that brings this forum down. In all honesty, feel free to call out the other morons in other threads because there are anti-DS dummies too.

And how would you know? Did a developer whisper that into your accommodating ears?

Err, considering we have a PSP launch title I'll let you figure out the rest.

So PC-Engine is accusing Sony if creating a shortage to make its numbers look better? That's to be expected coming from him. He has a very strong bias against Sony and is evident in the many things he says around this forum. He claims that PSP will have PS2 ports that offer nothing new. That is fine. He also claims that Nintendo will use the new dangled gimmicks on the DS to make innovative games that millions of poeple will want to play. So basically Sony is entering the PSP market as a new avenue of revenue and potential growth in the gaming market. Nintendo is creating the DS to make it's innovative games in the handheld market that they have failed to achieve in the current generation of consoles except for a few key titles. At least this is what I'm getting from PC-Engine.

PSP shortages are most likely natural and not "fake." Why would Sony fake a shortage to such a limited supply when they could easily fill double the number if they had the manufacturing capacity? It is most certain that those would get preordered too!

Me and my buddy have one too... ;)

Uh, ok. That's pretty good considering the team working on our PSP title is 4 engineers, 4 artists, and 3 designers (for the others here - no it's not a balanced team but it wasn't my call as to asset allocation).

'Innovative' doesn't mean 'good' or 'better'. And DS games are yet to be proven 'innovative'. What is sure, instead, is that its graphics pale in comparison to PSP.
