You want motion blur? Why? This is not a racing game.

I mean to apply on character limbs/units moving with speed. Would increase the immersion me thinks. I think Demigod uses object motionblur, atleast for the 'God' units. Could also smooth out animations to make it more 'uncanny valley' like so to say.

I tried downloading Battleforge and unpleasantly discovered I have run out of HDD space :cry::cry:. I would start deleting stuff but with terrabyters coming in at well under $100 I think I'll just add one of those. And I thought I'd never fill up those 320GBs :p

Davros is very persistent :D

RV670 was a refresh wasn't it? R600 DX10.0 to RV670 DX10.1
As I said before, what has never happened is that an IHV has never put out a refresh part that implemented the novel features of their competitors' parts. Refresh parts often have some relatively minor improvements in functionality, this is no surprise. But often those enhancements are non-overlapping.

Heck, most every piece of 3D hardware produced has had its own novel features. I can understand somebody saying, "This feature is important to me, so I'm going to prefer hardware that has it," but I can't understand somebody stating what Silent_Buddha was saying, that he apparently thinks nVidia deserves to be boycotted until they support the feature.

As far as I'm concerned, another consumer could just as easily whine about ATI's lack of support for CUDA or PhysX. Which particular features a consumer finds advantageous are up to that consumer, and I think it's ridiculous to claim that somehow a company is hurting 3D gaming because they're failing to do something that has never happened.

Except here it isn't something that MS put in specifically for ATI ala PS 1.4 or the various DX9.0a/b/c for various IHVs.

It's things that were meant for DX10.0 but were cut due to the one or both IHV's not being able to implement in time for Vista/DX10.0 launch.

And considering the fact that Nvidia couldn't implement them it would appear Nvidia were the primary IHV that couldn't make the cut.

Had DX10.0 launched with the features in Dx10.1 there would have been no complaints about Dx10.0 being slower than Dx9. Likewise an also higher uptake of DX10.0 if it was demonstrably faster than Dx9. But that's all crying over spilt milk.

Either way, Nvidia have no choice but to include those features with Dx11. So at least then we'll finally be able to have the benefits that we should have had all this time if not for them.

Anyway, all these posts are way off topic so I won't be replying to this subject in this thread anymore. Wasn't going to but just had to respond that one last time.

SB

ATI didn't implement them either in their first iteration of DX10 hardware, though. So your claims hold no water.

I've heard people say this before, but not sure where this originates from.
Is there an official source for this claim, or is it just an internet meme?

Doesn't sound too likely imho.
Namely, why would the 4xAA minimum be cut? nVidia has no problem supporting that.
Also, NVAPI allows multisample buffer readback, so why would that feature be cut aswell?
In other words, DX10 doesn't seem tailor-made for nVidia.

If the above theory is true, I would think it's Intel who couldn't make the cut. Their DX10-class IGPs don't support AA. That makes a whole lot more sense.

Just finished Gears for the PC! Man that is still one hell of a great game!! I really wish the second was coming to PC but I guess thats not gonna happen so i'm considering now whether to pick it up on the 360 or not.

I have a fair few games to get though on the PC yet though (Assassins Creed here I come!) but since I just broke up with my fiance I guess I have more time for this stuff now :(

Playing Unreal tournament with latest patch and Titan pack. 1680x1050, maxed with increased shadow res etc and 4xAA!

What a blast, solid 60fps gaming and the gameplay improvements are nice. "ROCKET SCIENTIST"! :D

The first Quake?

Anyways I think TSAA is working to as vegetation seems smoothed along the edges. Looks damn good and with the extra graphic options of latest patch/Titan pack it rivals the bullshots easily! :devilish:
