Video 4: Scary Graphics

I thought it was good... untill they got to the last 20 seconds. Boy, did they f-up in the end. Bleh.

The issue I have with this is : This is the fourth video and not a single one has said anything substantial about their new product. The only message they seem to send out is that NVIDIA rules (Then again this is also good Marketing).

But soo much marketing material avoiding the actual product and soo much marketing stressing about how great they are... makes you wonder if the actual product is not good enough to fill these 4 videos.

Funny... dunno... there are quite a few ads on TV which are funny, but this does not fall in this category. Then again humor differs from person to person.

Well then don't look at it and don't respond to that.

For the rest, i don't have any confidential info, so you are perhaps right...or wrong ;)

Geeforcer> Well this was the funiest part for me you see :D

Heh.

Going from Good to Bad, humor wise:

Very Good, and Funny --> Just good, Still Funny --> Bad, not funny --> So bad, it funny --> So horrible, its just sad.

The conclusion falls directly into the last catigory.

Who ever made these videos have been smoking something that's not only illegal but apparently also very damaging to their judgement. Give any random kid from high school a video camera and they would struggle to make anything as bad as this.

And no, just because it’s so beyond anything a decent firm would put out, makes it neither trendy or I’m-out-of-this-world stylish. Rubbish.

Question: What do you get when you take a bunch of overworked engineers and give them a chance to make cheesy short films?

Answer: The series of nVidia "Are You Ready" films.

Well, I don't know that for certain, but my take on the whole series is that they were all some form of team building excerise or fun project that members of the company got to do to blow off some steam. Obviously not professional actors, cheesy ripoff "plots" and "shaky cam" (and not the Sam Raimi style). Yep, all adds up to me that they were a "fun project" threw up on the website.

I hope they got a taste of making movies.

Does the commit from one of the video's after she found the new upcoming chip suppose to mean something?

"Its more horrible then I thought"

A gammer who was let down or something and frighten to death maybe. What in the hell is Nvidia trying to do??? Hopefully Comedex will be more forthcoming in letting us know what the NV30 will do vice this PR crap.

Wow. Not only was it terrible, its also full of marketing lies. thanks for wasting several mins of my life :devilish:

Kristof actually managed to get away with using fifty-seven rolleyes in a post... That's gotta be some kind of accomplishment. :)

I won't comment on the act of acting skills or scriptwriting ability, judgement etc or all the other stuff you folks have, since I haven't looked at a single video yet. I waste enough of Nvidia's bandwidth by downloading their reference drivers and then never bothering to install them! :)

I do agree with Kristofs comments though, that Nvidia toots its horn loudly, but not about what they should be talking about, namely its new product. That suxxors.

It better be slick as...uh, something slick...considering the amount of marketing fluff they're putting out!
