Uncharted : Drake's Fortune*

I  ZeroPunctuation. More gripes and gaming jokes please ! Review score is so boring in comparison.

Now he should start thinking about appearing on Crackle. That way, people on Playstation Home will be able to watch his show, argue and fight at the same time.

The guy has taken some serious shots at games I like, but I really enjoy the reviews. Even though he exaggerates everything 100 times over, he's still usually somewhat on the mark. You just need to not take it so seriously if he's trashing on a game that you like. I 100% approve of what he's doing.

I meant his credibility as a negative (but somewhat accurate) critic.
CoD4 got a free pass.

ROFL. Right, because it's not possible for a game to be made well enough that it could be enjoyed and not nit-picked to death by even the infamous Yahtzee.

Frankly i could easily imagine a very negative zero punctutation review of COD4.
ZP is just breathless expressed subjectivity (and i like it and watch every one of his reviews).

A good plain subjectivity is allways better than a mild (false) wannabe objectivity.
like most of the mainstream stuff.

It's precisely because ZP is purely subjective that Yahtzee can damn well do what he pleases. If he liked COD4, what's the problem? Why is Yahtzee a sellout for liking a good game?

Bought the game today along with prologue and RFoM.

The jungle scene is very nice with every plant looking so alive and sweet.

Anyways, quick question, is it possible to switch the controls? Shooting with R1 feels unnatural when the PS3\360 both come with triggers.

(Do normal shooters get mapped to R1 aswell for pulling the trigger on the ps3?)

R1 for shoot has been the same on every game involving shooting I've played on PS3 and XB360. It's the de facto shoot button. A progressive trigger isn't really needed for 'fire gun/don't fire gun' control ;)

(!) Ostepop, if you're a shooter god, you may consider starting with the next level of difficulty. The default difficulty may feel easy (boring) to some. Then again, some said RFoM is a tough game.

But if you want to go MP... the GAF clan plays every weekday (may be everyday) at about 8:00 or 9:00pm PST. I have added you to my friends list. So you should be able to drop me an XMB msg (or use the in-game msg).

Finally, congrats on your Uncharted purchase. It's a tough game that may test your patience during the first one-third of the game (Pirates !). But if you hang in tight, it gets better and better.

Are you saying that you use the shoulder button instead of the trigger with the X360, surely not!? The trigger is the standard firing button in every Xbox 1 or X360 game I have ever played

No im saying uncharted is using R1 on the PS3 as a trigger by default. This is equalient of using the right shoulderbutton on the X360. Which is completely unnatural as both gamepads got triggers

Shifty, R1 is the right shoulder button.

Not the TRIGGERS.

RIGHT SHOULDER BUTTON.

Im telling you, in my drake uncharted, i have to press R1 to shoot. R1 is the button ABOVE R2. R2 Being the trigger button on the gamepad.

Pressing R2 makes drake reload the gun.

Yeah, he got it, and so did everyone but you apparently :p

shifty's point about not needing analog sensitivity for a function that is definitively digital (on or off) gave that away...

Both games are fairly easy. Resistance on hard is at least challenging. But Drake on hard is a walk in the park. I don't understand why they didn't give gamers the choice to start with the highest difficult setting if the game is that easy. (I usually don't replay games once I've finished them).

I think he actually wants to use the trigger whether analog is required or not isn't necessarily the point, but the actual location of the button/trigger on the pad.

I haven't played uncharted, but I've used the PS3 controller and I think the trigger to fire and the button to reload would feel much better. You use the trigger to fire in Call of Duty 4, no?

Yeah, but all Xbox 360 games are using the actual triggers... Every single one ive played, and god there is a lot of decent shooters on the X360, all of them use the analog trigger.

And, its much more natural (for me) to actually pull a trigger, rather than pressing a button.

And shifty is at wrong here, because this is not the standart for X360 shooters, in fact, i haven't played one game one the 360 that didn't fire with the Right trigger.

Okay you win this round. I am not as good a gamer as I think I am.

Meh, i allways play at max difficulty avaliable in shooters, you dont really have to be a "shooting god" for that.

Just learn to shoot with strafe+aiming at high sensitivity and things start becoming easy. It also makes you a marvelous opponent in faced paced shooters, because nobody can take you in CQC, hence my close to 3.0 killratio in CoD4 multiplayer.
