Uncharted : Drake's Fortune*

Since I don't have access to a PS3 right now, I keep looking at screenshots and movies. I ended up back at Ruliweb and am once again amazed by the visuals.

Ahh nice..

Let me used this screenshot to ask the developers to add one feature i have dreamt about since GTA3.

A screensaver / gallery feature.

You have the assets you have the engine why not make the game a living painting on the wall.

Quake had a very nice feature, when you watched the the final score they had placed a camera somewhere in the current level, typical a birds view where you could see a part of the map from a different perspective. The feature was most likely added as an afterthough but it added some nice atmosphere.

After GTA3 i thought how could it would be to have something like that, just place several hundred cameras around on the maps and let the game rotate them when you were idle or the game wasn´t being played. Since the city was full of "life" anyway it could work a really awesome screensaver.

With HS, R&C and especially Drakes Fortune it could be taken to a whole new level. An actual moving camera that pans over the scenery for example...

Ohh maybe i´m just mad and this is wishfull thinking.. still i can hope :).. (please!)

At least loading times wouldn't be a problem. from the demo they seem nonexistent. But then again, I guess you'd have problems with everything else!

GT says its short and lacks replay value... the game is around 10 hours, how is that short? there are plenty of achievements and unlockables too. in the AC review, they don't mention anything about lack of replay value. also, the combos are not hard to time at all.

10 hours sounds alright and I wouldn't class that as short. But maybe they are taking into account all the videos and the videos may take up some hours of that time?

It's not short, but with lack of online it doesn't hold much of a replay value according to them.
And yes, AC got away with it even though the review explicitly declaring it repetitive, and practically boring for the second half.

I personally think replay value concerns are valid to some extend (for both games), but since we all played the demo it's really hard to agree with the review regarding gunplay, melee and platforming aids.

Still the score may be fair.

because it lacks mp, too short and only have one combo melee attack.

I was totally confused by that statement as well. They said melee was useless and there is only one combo? I don't know how many combos there are but I have never heard anyone say melee was useless in the game.

Gamer.TV gave it a five out of five, the best looking game out there and eminently replayable.

Assassins Creed on the other hand got a 4 out of 5.

Drake performs multiple combos, but there seems to be only 2 that you need to actually do ([] [] [] and [] /\ []). i've done at least 3 different combos using the [] /\ [] combo but there only seems to be one combo when you do [] [] []. also, Drake will perform different moves depending where you approach the enemy.

btw, does anyone know how to do those flying kicks?

There's four combos...but the game only teaches you two of them (that's what they say at neogaf.) In the demo I've done about 6 different finishing moves, from drop kicks, to punch ups, to smashing their head into a wall, to punching them to face away from me and kick them in the spine. That was all one combo in the demo...
