Trailer from Naughty Dog

Disappointed if there's no online multiplayer mode of some kind.

No I'm not talking about death matches or capture the flag necessarily.

But something creative.

Of course a lot of work just getting this new game up and running with lot of assets and technology to build.

Maybe some downloadable multiplayer levels. Or can MP be appended to a game which seems to be developed for a SP, cinematic experience?

Not all games must have online play. from what they are trying to do with this game and what they have achieved so far, I think its far fetched to expect from them to add online play and be dissapointed of the lack of it especially when there are so many other impressive non-dissapointing aspects in it, that are ignored or forgotten for the sakes of an unimportant mode that cant be implemented unless the devs were Gods or have to sacrifice from their dedication to the single player which is all what this game is about.

Its like saying I am dissapointed by God of War 2 because it lacks online play when its extremely obvious that mode doesnt fit in there and its simply unimportant and minor compared to what the devs achieved and are trying to achieve.

Speaking of which I will be disappointed if GOW3 doesn't have online play.:D

The thing is, these kinds of action games have not been done for online. Just seems like there could be some room for creativity there.

I know for these kinds of games, they want a real immersive, cinematic experience with a lot of cut scenes, spend money on high-quality mocap and hire some acting talent for voices.

Wish at least someone would look in a different direction.

Very nice foilage, atmospheric haze and lighting, but I'm not feeling the hype about the animation system. The characters seem to do all their torso twisting at the belt line, like plastic action figures. And, again, the art style is uninspired.

incredible foilage and lighting, especially in the third shot. I'm wondering if they have implemented clothes' physics at this stage... :D

In the original trailer you can see the main character's shirt wrinkling up as he's moving around, I thought that was pretty neat. Not physics based though (shader?).

If the E3 trailer was any indication of the gameplay animation they're targeting I'd say there's plenty to be hyped about. That kind of fluidity and nuance would be amazing IMO. Although how they're going to balance detail and realism with player responsiveness is going to be interesting to see. Ico/SotC ran into a fair share of complaints for emphasizing expression and realism over immediate responsiveness (although I loved the control in those games). Going by the article they seem to want to try and find some kind of middle ground.

Art style is subjective but I really dig the nostalgic, pulp adventure style they're going for. It's pretty refreshing to boot.

Highly impressive.

The first time I saw the origional trailer, I was playing Flashback on Genesis.

I hope the game is as expansive as it looks! It would be very disappointing if it only looked like you were stuck in a jungle when in fact you're constrained by invisible boundaries.

Looks like Gears of War with trees.

Mass Effect is still king IMO.

Also, jungle-chase is artwork. You can see the brush strokes.
