The Big Forza 2 Thread *

I've had the chance to play some Forza 2 on the debug Xbox Live this afternoon, followed by some (failed) time attack on the fabulous Nürburgring, and as you know me now I of course captured a lot of images of both these events. The Ring in Forza is simply incredible, especially when played with a Porsche 960 with 730 bhp under the hood. The speed sensation is just out of this world.

The game doesn't look very much like a post-first-generation next gen game to me. In its lighting and style, it reminds me of Burnout Revenge mixded with a little bit of Need for Speed carbon.

agreed, I have never seen a game looking so crappy at some screen shots and so realistic at others (same goes for the videos ). I guess everything is really coming together at the last second like egm says. i'll be waiting on the reviews (that are based on the retail copy) and the long-awaited demo to form my own opinion of the game.

Different tracks have different lighting. That might be the disparity you are seeing.
 
Looks like Che posted something to the effect there will be "good news on the demo" within 12 hours. And that it's coming sooner than we think.

To my mind that doesn't mean for sure that will be when it comes out, but it's possible.
 
nevermind it says update will be in 20 minutes, news about demo probably after that.

okay after about 5 minutes of testing network connections it downloaded. It's the new system update, bad news is that if you had a theme it doesn't have a panel for the new blade.

Seems pretty obvious its coming today/tonight.

This is one game I've been looking forward too. I like arcade races, I like sims, but I can't seem to enjoy PGR at all (even though I keep buying it when it comes out), too much in the middle for my tastes. This is the first good test of the force feedback wheel for me.

It will be out tonight per Che on the FM Boards. But no one knows exactly when.
 
The demo is up!
In the Euro market place you have to get it from the all game demos section instead of new arrivals, atleast for now. It's 691MB. downloading...

I'm guessing the point in releasing a trailer that looks quite impressive when the actual game is very average looking is going straight over my head.

You could understand it if the console was still in the "PR-bull" phase of it's life, but that has long passed for the 360.
