The Big Forza 2 Thread *

I think the lighting still looks off IMO as well as some colors. Looks good overall though.

The crazy math going on in this kind of software never stops to amaze me...

It's coming together...

"It's coming together..."

Actually Pipo in that picture its coming apart! Sorry its a poor effort I know, I'll get my coat.

By the way the video I have seen transform this game, it looks stunning to me when watching it. Problem for me is I don't think I could possibly give this game the time it deserves to get the most out of it.

Now that looks a lot better. The lighting with the rear lights looks crazy good. The cars in the second pic look like they're made of carbon fibre or something not metal. :p

....why are the decals backwards on the side :?:

Well, they looked right in the mirror... :???:

;) Anyway, the new shots look worthy of being a AAA X360 game. I can't say that I like motion blur continually being added for shots when it's only in the photo mode of the game. But I know that screenshots usually pale in the light of video, so I'm not terribly opposed to a few touch ups on shots.

Wow just wow:love:...that Top Secret drift car looks amazing!!! It's nice to finally see specular highlights on the rims on that one.

Ah.... So wait... are the ads for the crowds or for distracting other drivers. :???:

And... for the sake of all, I hope this is not an April Fool's set of screenshots.

No it's for real as per Che from Turn 10.

I paused the game mid-dorifto and took the photo for the Top Secret S15 shot.

I paused a replay and took the photo for the Exige vs. Porsche 914/6 shot.

Both of them are real-time and done with photo mode, then uploaded to FM.net.

(Use of) photomode confirmed then ...

This is a good thing imo, not as good as ingame but close. Photomode in Forza doesn't add much other than motion blur, it's the same resolution, and obviously doesn't add anything above the 4xAA which is already in the game.

At first I was skeptical these were bullshots, but knowing Che took them directly from photomode

yep
these look sweet... :D

considering the INSANE amount of physics calculations during the race that effect the cars and the damage models and the 4xAA and the 60fps etc... I'm very impressed with the results.

Of course I'll play this more as an arcade style as I'm not into sim racers but want to experience this title.

PGR4 is more my speed (or Dirt)

comparison post/pic real vs game

Does anybody know how the process of texturing that car works with all of those decals? Does the art department request for decal data from the car tuner? Or do they simply take photographs of the cars then convert the photographs into textures?
