Coming November 15, 2019:

You know it's from Respawn because there's wall running. I can't tell if it's a 3rd person or 1st person.
It tells the story of a Padawan who survived Order 66, so it's set right after Episode III.

I'm anticipating this more than Ep. IX, to be honest.

It' s a 3rd Person mellee action game ala Force Unleashed.
Trailer looks underwhelming and art direction not that hot.. But it's just a trailer so..

Trailer is underwhelming without gameplay footage but with the latest UE4 here's hoping it looks as good as 1313.

With a release this year one would doubt they're iterated on the engine anytime recently.

True but since it's customized for this game there might be some in house effects or features that could surprise us.

Gameplay > graphics. It would be nice it had cutting edge visuals, but I'm mostly intrigued by the way the combat has been described.

I actually liked the story beats of the trailer, would of liked some gameplay though. I don't think Respawn has any third person experience?

Other than cool looking eviroments and the Lightsaber combat tease, there is nothing exciting in it. If they're confident about their project then this is good news because it means they reveal the good stuff at a later stage.
The only thing that hypes me in a indirect way is that next-gen games should look this good.

After the eye rolling revelation that somehow Palpatine would make his way into episode IX, that tiny shred of hope I still had for the films is now completely gone. So the fact that getting spaced is no death sentence in SW was apparently just a means to prepare the audience for the fact that the force can literally do anything. And that includes protecting someone from death when he's right in the epicenter of a thermo nuclear explosion. Seems like Disney is now DC-level desparate.

Palpatine "came back to life" several times in the Expanded Universe stories.
The moment you get "force ghosts" established in that universe, it doesn't really matter if the original body is more or less decimated.

In EU stories, Palpatine had prepared a set of cloned bodies for him to possess in the event of him being killed, which he eventually did more than once.
The Sith using the Force to "create life and trick death" is something that is even mentioned in the movies, when Palpatine talks about how his former master Plagueis was so heavily focused on researching the subject, to the point of heavily suggesting that Anakin was conceived through these experiments.

Besides, one of the most frequent fan theories is that Rey is a "Skywalker" because she's an artificial conception of the Force like Anakin was (i.e. Force Jesus).
Or at least it was, until that other narcissistic asshole wrote the script for Last Jedi and spat on every single line of narrative from the earlier 7 films.

Regardless, my lack of interest with Ep. 9 comes from the fact that Ep. 8 ruined the whole thing for me. I just think that amount of damage on the "Skywalker Saga" is irreparable, but I still love Star Wars so I'll focus on other stories and media instead.

There's a reason I never bother with expanded universe crap. It all seems like fan fiction nonsense to me (because it is I guess. Didn't Boba Fett also fight his way out of the Sarlac's stomach?). Besides, didn't Disney declare all that stuff non-canonical a while back?
Not that it would matter anyway, because removing stakes is pure poison from a story telling perspective no matter what.
I think the fact that everyone seems to become a force ghost is already pretty annoying, but at least those cannot do much more than recite fortune cookie wisdoms. At least in the movies.

Gooood. Gooood. Let the bran hate flow through you!

*not really interested in the new trilogy. Rogue One was great though.

I don't know what to make of this game, if it's going to be akin to The Force Unleashed games or... something actually good.

You mean up until the steaming pile of crap that was the last jedi, where Ghost Yoda conjures lightning from the sky?

From the marketing material, it sounds like it will be close to Force Unleashed but without the over-the-top powers and good (according to them) lightsaber combat.. which if we're feeling optimistic it might be close to the lightsaber combat we saw in Jedi Academy.

No Multiplayer
No Microtransactions
Actually, I've never been into Star Wars that much, save for SNES games that I loved, but this could be the game that make me return to the Star Wars world, if it turns out well.

Totally forgot about crazy-Yoda in TLJ. Sonic The Hedgehog's Casino Zone and woke pink lady's terrific idea of not sharing her plans tend to overshadow things.
