From here on, looking at these is like tracking how far generation falls before the next arrives and how long it takes for the next generation to ramp up. Or, why publishers want rolling generations as their revenue plummets for a year or two (sometimes more) in traditional console generations.

Had to correct the title of the list as the article has a typo calling it October. :p

Good thing for Star Wars Jedi: FO that Nintendo likes to have multiple versions of Pokémon. :) and that's with no digital sales reported for any of the Nintendo titles. COD: MW doesn't care though, it would be tops regardless.

Were all versions of Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield combined, the aggregate total would place as the #2 best-selling in November.

Nice showing by Death Stranding at 7. That's honestly higher than I was expecting. I was thinking it'd come in around 9th or 10th.

The Outer Worlds continues to do well at 13. Happy dance because Obsidian are one of my favorite developers.

Dollar sales for software continue to decline (-14% month to month and -8% year to year). Usually sales increase in Nov. compared to Oct. but not this year. A large part of it is that many of the big game releases have been pushed back to March-April (my god is there a lot of games being released in Mar. and Apr.). The year to year drop is partially due to there being no RDR2 equivalent this year. COD: MW was kind enough to provide a COD equivalent to last year's release. :p But again, so many high profile titles being pushed back to late winter/early spring certainly doesn't help.

Hardware sales are in freefall at this point (-26% month to month). Hard to justify a PS4 or XBO at this point with the next generation basically already announced/teased. And NSW doesn't sell enough to pick up the slack from falling sales of PS4 and XBO.

Same goes for software where the NSW is the only platform to post month to month and year to year gains in game software spending.

Gains in software spending on Nintendo Switch have not offset declines across other platforms.

That's likely to be the case through the rest of the Holiday season and possibly the rest of next year other than a blip in Mar. and Apr. as some high profile titles launch on other systems.

Poor Anthem. 10th best selling of 2019, but abandoned by EA long ago.
