Square Enix DKΣ3713 Invitation-only Event (Mobile, DS, PSP, PS3, Blu-ray)

Last time (end of 07) I saw data around here pertaining to Asian nations other than Japan, the 360 were leading in quite a few of them like Korea and Taiwan.

I bet if you ask around here there are plenty of posters who would very much like to have a clearer outlook of the gaming market in Asia outside Japan.

Trouble is, last time, 07 in general, the Xbox was leading almost anywhere. 2008 is looking totally different. There was like one month in which the PS3 didn't outsell the Xbox. Have you seen EA's latest financial report? Almost 1000% increase in profit from PS3 games they put on the platform, leaving any other console behind in sales numbers.

And that Sony & Nintendo outdo Microsoft in Asian-Asian (meaning Japan, China etc. and not Arabia, Turkey, ...) countries is a given fact.

How about you post some Asian numbers with links. Otherwise, everything you writing is taking here as conjecture.

The Sony has shipped about 260K more PS3 than MS has 360 over the second quarter of this year. The PS3 is selling slightly better and not enough to think its totally eating up the 360 lead everywhere outside of Germany, France and a few other PAL markets where we have seen LTD numbers.

And those EA GAAP numbers don't reflect a trend in the overall market in terms of PS3 software selling, in general, better than 360 hardware. EA's GAAP numbers don't even coorelate with their non GAAP numbers which has the 360 with more sales.

The Asian market sans Japan is so small for games that it is by Sony considered part of Europe. That's saying a lot regarding the importance of FF for exactly that market. Seriously, if you've ever been to those parts of Asia, you would know. I have (Iran and Turkey).

Q2? Why just Q2? The PS3 has been outselling the 360 - no matter by how much - every month except for one, if memory serves correctly. That's US only by the way. I don't have access to EU numbers as of now.

Point taken.

This thread isn't about 360 vs PS3 sales, so let's consider that tangent concluded.
