Sony VR Headset/Project Morpheus/PlayStation VR

Do we know if Project Morpheus will be compatible with PC? ... unlike 3D TV, I'm more inclined to try VR device, but I will not buy VR device for only one platform.

They said it won't be. None of the VR are multi-platform.

And Sony also already exit pc business. I think they rather have morpheus works with xperia than pc.

Like remoteplay that has abandoned the pc version and keep developing for xperia

gizmag impressions...

Project Morpheus' 1080p resolution – lower than the Gear VR and (most likely) the consumer Oculus Rift – didn't provide the pronounced screen door effect (visible pixels) we were expecting. If we didn't already know Morpheus' resolution, we would have guessed it was a Quad HD panel, like in the Gear VR. We aren't sure why that is, but perhaps Sony has tweaked something else to cut down on the perception of the screen door effect.
Ha! I knew it.

*happy dance*

Reviews on all these headsets are mixed. It will be nice when someone can sit down and go from headset to head set in seconds instead of hours to really compare and contrast.

was very impressed with my Morpheus demo today. They had me try a new section of London Heist, which the developer told me will become a full title. Basically I was riding shotgun down the freeway while blasting baddies with an uzi. The Move controllers were very fun to use, grabbing clips and reloading the gun.

My main takeaways:

- Compared to the Rift (CV1), SDE was present, though barely noticeable and not a distraction.
- Morpheus feels heavier than CV1, this may not be ideal after long periods of time.
- Morpheus has a very deep opening under the eyes, much more than CV1. While this distracted me at first because I could see my whole body so clearly, I stopped noticing it once the demo started.
- Aliasing was apparent
- Tracking was very smooth. Using wands like Move, Vive, and Touch are the way to go with VR. It was so fun to raise my hands and see them in front of me, then to grab objects in the car. Leaning out the car window and looking behind the vehicle to see if any cars were approaching was an awesome feeling as the audio changed to reflect the ambience of the wind rushing my ears outside the vehicle.
- All of Sony's demos are stationary. It's not apparent whether they want you walking around, and it seems like their launch library won't incorporate any of that. That being said, I would play the shit out of a full-length London Heist game.

When it was over I missed it. I wanted to be in there longer. I haven't felt that with any of my Gear VR games yet. Good job, Sony. I had a blast despite the small drawbacks.

Mr Fox how big of a space can the eyetoy track ? This guy mentions everything was stationary. Do you know if the ps4 can run 2 eyetoys ?

[PS4 cameras are not called eyetoy. They are just "PS4 Camera"]

PS4 cannot run 2 of them because cameras use special "AUX" port and there is only one of them on the back of PS4.

As for tracking area, cameras have 85 degree FOV and can film from 30cm and beyond. Recommended range will probably be 2-3 feet and beyond.

From the dozens and dozens of reviews coming out this week, from journalists and publications with editorial oversight... the one you picked is an anonymous poster from the official Oculus forum? Really?

He was extremely positive on the Morpheus. He also tested both without glasses.

I guess a random site gizmag ? is good. I've been reading a ton of information on all 3. But like I said , no one has been able to go from one to another yet nor have they all be able to test them in the same enviorment .

Sony using dark rooms without movement while occulus has a fully lit room in which you can move around. Both require hours of being on line even for press.

Okay then.

I do not judge the quality of content based on whether it is positive or negative, or if I agree or disagree with it.

I'm saying it's a source which should be taken with a grain of salt. Anonymous poster, with an account created less than 3 months ago. It's as valid as any poster on playstation.com or dualshockers.com, or a new GAF member.

What is the priiiiiiiiiiiice.

Ugh

Ars usually love to nitpick but their hands on sounds good.

Too bad no no man's sky on morpheus

London Heist alternative car chase footage 1080p 60fps

i stupidly put my tablet on standby when uploading the full file to mega... ugh

What is this, London from 28 Days Later when the city is deserted? :runaway:

The gun seems to do squat (empties a clip into a motocyclist with no response). What exactly is this supposed to be? An 'interactive VR experience' rather than a game?
