Sony PlayStation VR2 (PSVR2)

I don't like the pointless pro-PSVR2 trumpeting that you are replying to - I'm aggrieved PCVR is getting mentioned so much in this thread where it's largery irrelevant save as we're getting now comparisons of experience, maybe on hardware cost considerations - but the point here is lots of PCVR is actually apparently saying, "you know what, this thing is even better than what we've been experiencing" rather than "don't bother, PCVR has had this for years and there's nothing to care about." PCVR hasn't set any standard. I think it's had a range of differing parameters without a clear standard, has possibly languished the last few years due to no significant momentum, and now there's a new VR headset that's consolidated a lot of the best features at a fabulous price for those features in a compelling package that is not by any stretch the 'standard' for PCVR, especially at this price range.

People's enthusiasm which you're objecting to seems to be the realisation of the excitement of the PSVR/Oculus promise for VR at a large scale. I don't see why anyoen would object to that enthusiasm considering it's genuine and unbiased - that means the VR experience is actually achieving, which is a really good thing for VR all round!
I'm responding to something already posted. I don't blame you, neither do I, but is it not reasonable to expect people make comparisons of one to the other? You act like there's no connection to be formed and can't see how one has anything to do with the other.. to which I completely disagree. And yes, PC headsets did set standards. Standards for the hardware, such as the controllers.. and standards for software, and open standards for development. Sony is finally meeting some of those standards, and slightly exceeding in others.. and you can hear developers cheer at the fact that it's meeting those standards now.

I'm not objecting to anyone's enthusiasm. Not sure why you're accusing me of that? Why would I object to someone being enthused about upgrading their VR experience.. specifically when it's genuine? I'm merely replying to someone in this thread who is acting like PC gamers are begging for PSVR2.. much like they also accuse PC gamers of begging them for their first party games...which not many people seem to be buying. Go figure. It seems like it's a common angle they like to use, and perhaps some of us are sick of it being dragged into everything.

There is a free trial for Horizon call of the mountain on the PS store now.
Yeah, there are few on there now. Sony need to sort our their store's PSVR2 section because nowhere is it flagging that a bunch of games sold for PS4/PSVR (like Job Simulator) have either free or paid upgrade to PS5/PSVR2.

I could only play for around one hour last evening, but for now i found the headset somehow less confortable to wear than my Quest 2 with an aftermarket strap.

Got my ;d Resolution is still not there (8k would be perfect but for sure ps5 wouldnt handle it) and sweetspot is little problematic but yeah, gt7 vr sense of depth, speed and elevation is on another level ! Its funny but automaticly you try to drive safer and avoid any accident ;d edit: fov much better than psvr1

Sony's brand new PlayStation VR2 is being delivered to people's homes this week, but it's not all been plain sailing for early adopters.

A lengthy thread on the PSVR reddit lists numerous complaints with the gadget's right Sense controller - and specifically with its buttons not responding.

Adjusted sweetspot beter (have to put headset qute high on my head) and have a blast racing against sophie ai ;d Its so good. In future 8k oled hdr pancake lenses and nobody will remember about flat games.
It took a while for us to position the headset to hit our respective sweet spots. Put it on but leave it a little loose, then adjust until you find that sweet spot before your tighten.

The sweet spot is less important in games like GT7 where you can drive so fast, everything is a blur anyway! :runaway:

yeah still a lot of room for improvement, but at least now it's not jaggies fest anymore and you can see more than a few meters away !
Also briefly checked No Man's Sky, and it does not feel like i need glasses anymore.
Part of PSVR1's problem was that the PS4 really didn't have enough capability for it. Especially the base PS4. RE7 (on the base PS4) had fixed foveated rendering with only the center at full resolution and still needed the graphics detail in general cranked down.

For me proper sweetspot make diff in gt7, havent yet checked any other game though bought like 17 🤣

Kind of a bummer about the sweet spot. The same story as the Reverbs or Odyssey+ where I can never quite keep it centered unless it's a game you play essentially motionless.

A smaller sweet spot zone is seemingly common with Fresnel lenses, but as long as you secure the headset to your head with epoxy resin or nails, then it won't move and the problem is solved. :yep2: It definitely helps if you can find a sweet spot where the lenses are closer to yours eyes.

How readily can you swap between users and restore their physical preferences?
